Firefox may be coming to the PS3

Playstation Insider's got a tipster (one that's reportedly "very close" to the company) telling them that Sony is in heavy talks with Mozilla to port Firefox to the PS3. The tipster didn't know if any actual deal had been struck, but it's not terribly surprising considering the PS3's current built-in browser is less than awesome.

That would be awesome, hopefully it will have full flash support, or at least full HTML5.

Although im a PC gamer at heart I defnitly do enjoy those final fantasy games xD but finally getting a better web browser I also hope that when it dose get ported its not like games that they port from console to PC cause man .. they have major glitches... but thanks for this info mate!

I hadn't heard of this yet - great news!! The browser in the PS3 is adequate, but Firefox would definitely be a step up. Now if they can only come up with an easy way to mod the laser for when 128GB Blu-ray discs (BDXL) hit the market.

I'm willing to bet a heavy firmware update should do the trick. However, these are old tech bd drives. Reading 128gb at 2x speed is going to be pretty painful.

I don't own a PS3 but this is still pretty cool. and BTW, HTML5 isn't even fully compatible with PC so I doubt it would be more compatible on the PS3.

This is the most awesome things that can happen to the people, I have been using play-station since my childhood, and I like to upgrade with the time and so I currently have a PS3 and PSP.
