Hybrid platform, adopts the latest DFI patent technology. That is, a board combines a powerful platform of the current mainstream (P45 + ICH10R) and a green platform (NVIDIA ION). In other words, Hybrid has two platforms which operate completely independently. What is more, files can be shared between platforms. Through integrated hardware switch chips as well as network switch chips, Hybrid platform features a KVM and LAN switch on board. So Hybrid platform can be used with a monitor and keyboard/mouse, or with two sets of devices to work separately. This product will bring you the following four benefits:

well full sized and powerful computers take up energy, the idea here is that you can turn off the power waster when you don't need it.

Well, yeah, I get that. I just don't believe the conspiracy of Global Warming. I mean, it is pretty cool, but I wouldn't buy it with the sole reason just being I could single handedly save the world. Saving money by using less energy would be nice, though.

I guess it all depends on how big your carbon footprint is. and yes if DFI sold these to everyone on the planet then it might make a difference. Maybe that is their master plan, I mean I would like to be a scratch golfer and see more than contest whores enter my giveaways so goes to show we all have goals.

I think this board will be great. prolly not much for overclocking but might make a great all in one media center PC.

It has the potential of complete faceplant though, depending on how well it has been designed in terms of ease of use for the user to just push a button or something and have one hibernate while the other fires up to take over. Seems like that could get confusing for a lot of people.

Time will tell. given what I know about DFI there will likely be only a couple of different ways you can use either system.

I wouldn't normally suggest this but be sure to check out the Tweaktown video of this board, if the video is any indication of the final product it will be like having 2 systems in one.

I saw the demo video i think it would be sweet, Looks to be a fairly easy task to swap units given the built in hardware for switching over control.
