Well between the brands the biggest difference is warranty and price. More or less they all are pretty much the same. Even though some stuff as been flying around that XFX is using a cheaper PCB that limits Crossfire usage. Search the net for that info. The Radeon 4890 is a great card that is extemely powerful. Which card would we pick more or less depends on your budget. If you can spend more then go for the Radeon 5850. If your budget is to tight then go for this.
Intel Xeon W3520 @ 4.2Ghz/EVGA Classified/6GB Mushkin Redline 1600 DDR3 RAM/2x BFG GTX 285 SLI/Creative X-Fi PCI-E Fatality Soundcard/OCZ Agility 120GB SSD/Seagate 1.5TB HD/Asus DVD Burner/Antec 1200Watt PSU/Cooler Master HAF X/Swiftech water cooling system

Since the high-end 4- series ATI cards are being phased out, it's becoming increasingly difficult to find one, unless you can grab up a used one. The problem with this is that most of the time, warranties don't go to the next person unless you grab an XFX. They have the double lifetime warranty on their cards and it covers the second owner of the card. I've heard some pretty bad stories coming from the XFX 4890's. Therefore, I would suggest getting something from the 5 series. The 5770 performs just about on par with the 4890. The 5850 is better, but more expensive. I highly suggest staying away from Diamond. I've got horror stories about them I won't go into.

I agree with slngsht. Get a 5770 and you should be quite happy. I run 2 in crossfire and they work great. Mine are the HIS "batmobile" cooler version, I don't care for the egg versions as the heat dump into the case is something I like to avoid. All things considered, with lower power consumption, DX11 features, much quieter than 4 series as they run much cooler. The 5770 should be a perfect card for you.

Generally the difference between cards is simple.

Between Brand names, it's quality of manufactoring.
Between Same Brand names and different cards, it's one of the following...

Oc'd Card - in one or more of the following catagories as well.
Size of Memory
SLI or CrossFire ready.

In a nutshell that's it, and like the post above mine always look up the power you will need.
MSI KN9-Diamond|AMD 6000+|Corsair H50|Crucial Ballistx 800-4-4-4-12(2x1/2x2)|Sunbeam FreezingStorm|EVGA 2x9500GT|2xPSU Thermaltake 750W/500W|(Sata)1x160/1x500/1xDVD(IDE)1x120/1x250|Win7 Pro x64

My vote is for XFX as well. :super Never had a problem with their items including their mobos. Mine will play Crysis and I dont overclock that I know of :) I just cant get the hang of the tank. I always get blown up.

Make sure you get a video card that suits your motherboard slot, dont buy a Caddilac if all your going to get out of it is Volkswagon speed.

I would buy XFX, I heard that they have good warranty. If it was Nvidia card I would probably go with EVGA

In addition to some cards being cooled more efficiently and some are overclocked at the factory

When looking at the brands try too see what comes in the package, different companies may include extra stuff and better warranty/no warranty at all. Look for stuff like included games, warranty, connections, prices and company reputation. My 2cents.

If you want cheap and pretty decent card.

Here's a ATI Radeon HD 4890 for only 169.99, I think it's an amazing deal. It's probably the best in price/performance right now

Sapphire Vapor-X are good cards. But ATI 4890 runs hot and higher power consumption. Please consider that before you decide to purchase. I suggest looking at newer DX11 cards at least.
