Grand Theft Auto 4 PC

Ok so I noticed I am almost the only person who has this game. I would think for Game of the Year more people would have tried out this amazing game. After playing and completing all previous GTA titles (except for the sub series like liberty city stories) :D

If any of you here would like to go on a spree around L.C. or maybe get your long awaited chance to shoot me, just post up here. I would love to battle some real people in the virtual city of Liberty, I have seen the multiplayer vids on youtube but have not logged on yet.

PS: feel free to post any vids you have made on here to( or links to the vids). I feel it is probably the most complete game in the series, though I would have loved to see planes etc return.

GTA IV for the PC was great game but it had some flaws; one of which were occasional graphical glitches but they didn't really bother me.

The game ran great and never crashed so I was happy with it. My only pet peeve was that there aren't any planes to fly.

one word. Dual core. Actually, that was two, but you get my drift. I'm not willing to get the game till I upgrade to a quad core rig. I don't like a game that lags.

This is actually a great game if your PC has the cores to run it. Besides the many technical issues with graphics and sound(most of which have been addressed) it is a solid title. The writing was terrific and the gameplay was top notch. I just hope the DLC comes out for the PC soon.

As for multiplayer i did a couple of matches a few months ago and it was pretty solid so i would recomend any/all that are interested try it out.

Yeah i guess I never noticed the low power things, my rig is fairly beefy. :D plays smooth as can be for me. I think the story in 4 is far better than previous titles, i could do without the"dates" and hanging out with all the characters you need to do to get the bonus stuff but I guess they can't make a perfect game or there wouldn't be any room for improvement.

The "dates" were a nice little touch that was thrown in. It made the world more immersive...though not a main game mechanic in any way. It was a nice touch imo. Now since i just beat GTA 4 and CoD:WaW...should i tackle NWN2: the 2 expansions next, Mass Effect, or Crysis Warhead...or EVE online....hmmm

Well Steam had the bargin bin sale for this game so I took a chance. I always like the GTA games but find the story is overall okay and I tend to stray quickly from it. This one though is done just right to keep my attention span locked on playing and not wild killing sprees.

I beat the game with both endings, Never acheived 100% though as I still have never done all of the buddy missions etc.
I guess I need to take it from boat to the end one with all missions some day soon.
BTW If you are just playing for fun shut off autosave and don't save then your deaths will not cost because next time you play you will start in the same place. You can also enter in the cheatcodes from the phone and not get the cheating penalty since you are not saving progress

i use the car cheats(ones that dont block any achievements) cuz i like to ride in style and hate when morons like Manny take my clean turismo(ferrari)... and the game just doesn't exactly save cars perfectly

and its just so convenient

I prefer to steal the tour helicopters to do my missions in, the power line make landing hard but the time saved rounding up weapons etc. pays off. Helicopters and crotchrockets are my favorite but the pickup can take some damage so it is good for lots of stuff.

my only problem with the bikes is handling and if you hit anything on one, you're gonna take damage, and how fast i drive everywhere, i'd be nearly dead after most corners, so i take my Ferrari/Viper/corvette/porsche knockoffs everytime

and i'm just GOD AWEFUL at landing the Heli's, i've only successfully landed once so far.

It is a very good idea for a game,
i like the way i's done, and the way Niko is made, altho his serbian is not perfect ( i am from serbia so i can compare)

only thing i dont like is that i remember i wated like 1 year for this game to come for PC after consoles and it wasnt still good polished,
Hope nextcoming expansions will be batter optimized for PC systems :)

I have the game as well. I played for quite some time without updating it HUGE MISTAKE. The patches really cleaned up the gameplay and made the graphics run smoother. Looks like rockstar patched it again too for the episodes of liberty city. WHICH LOOKS AMAZING! So many new guns to use which just makes this so amazing =]
