Borderlands 2

Ok so I will admit I picked up Borderlands 2 and even got a good hour of gameplay in before I needed to refocus on a review.

My conclusion.

Good game!. I like the RPG aspect though find the menu system really confusing. I like the backpack aspect but don't like how I can pick up everything and can't really tell what I'm picking up or how much of each thing I have.

Health is also a we bit confusing but seems to follow the Deus Ex formula.

Based on my hour or so of learning I'm going to estimate 4 more hours to figure out the different weapons and how to navigate the menu system but I will admit I do like that game,

If there was one thing I loathe about the game... it is a twitchy mofo. I had to dial the mouse down so I could stay on track and see where I was going. I also had a hell of a time locating the monsters I was supposed to shoot. granted I'm running 2-way audio but monster sounds have no location where you would think monsters to the right would sound like they are towards the right and move when the player spins around. I might as well use the PC speaker if this is the kind of audio quality I can expect.

I found the sound to work great with the onboard creative sound and my usb driven headset. Though there was some fudging around on the creative drivers because they updated and whatever they did was not well liked by BL2. Let me know if you're ever up for co-oping. Nilkilla on Steam.

Lots of guns yes, but nothing really "good" until later in the game.

Just finished Borderlands 2. I will admit the ending was really good and the fight to get there was quite the challenge. According to Steam I have 75 hours in which included lots of wandering around, some online play and the side missions.

The nice thing about finishing the main story line is that you can continue to play and choose to start over in true Vault Hunter mode. I may continue to play a little here and there so we'll see if I can reach the magical level 50. :tiouck

Still playing Borderlands 2. I ended up creating a new character and now have two running in true vault hunter mode. My first was the Assassin Zero and I think I picked him first because of the melee aspect (as I was coming off Skyrim at the time) My new character is the Siren Maya and have to admit I like playing her better. In fact she was the first character I got to level 50 and am well on my way to completing the game again in true vault hunter mode.

I am considering the option to create another new character with the soul purpose of power leveling to 50 so I can farm the game at level 50 for the best loot. Seems if you play the game normal you will never get level 50 gear until the very end.
