Reviews: Gigabyte G1 Killer Sniper 3 Gaming Motherboard

Postby Ninjalane » Thu Aug 23, 2012 9:56 am

The G1 Sniper 3 is one of handful of motherboards aimed at satisfying the needs of overclocking, gaming and hardware enthusiasts at the same time. While this group may be small by comparison the things they look for in a motherboard can be rather specific and sometimes downright crazy.

That is one sweet board. Great review! Tempted to get it just to bench the Intel LAN vs the "Bigfoot". I thought it was interesting how each of the z77 boards had their spot, performance-wise. The newness of the board actually has it priced at or above most of the other boards in this price range, but only two others(top tier ASRock and FTW eVGA) will run 2(x16 pci-e) in SLI. All of the others fall to x16, x8 or x8, x8 right away.

Thanks again for the review, especially for the timing!

Yep 2400Mhz, was testing out some new TridentX modules. With the BCLK adjustment it was more like 2500Mhz.

do you think my idea of going with those low-voltage samsungs at 2x4GB could reap similar results?
