Lamptron Creative Contest Giveaway

Postby Redmax » Wed Jun 18, 2008 9:08 pm

Its contest time again here at Ninjalane and we have partnered up with Lamptron a premiere designer and developer of high performance computer peripherals.

For this contest we will be asking you to come up with a creative solution to a common problem and the winner with the “best” idea will walk way with 2 high quality products direct from Lamptron.

To enter you will need to do the following.

Head on over to the Lamptron website http://www.lamptron.com and check out their fine line of products. They have all sorts of stuff over there from custom case handles to fancy LED lighting modules.

Next come up with a creative way to use any one of the Lamptron products. The more creative you are the better your chances to win. If you think using 2 products together will render a better result then feel free.

Lastly to enter simply post your idea in the forum, pictures/drawings/images and any sort of visual cues are welcome along with at least a paragraph description of your idea

Contest entries need to be posted here
http://www.ninjaforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=841

That’s it!

So why do this?
For the prizes of course.

One lucky winner will receive

A set of Case Handles (CH-2) in their choice of colors

Our Review http://www.ninjalane.com/display.aspx?docname=lamptron-ch2

A FAN-ATIC 5-port military switch baybus

With all contests we need lay down some ground rules.

For your entries, keep them clean!
what constitutes clean? Well if you have to ask your idea likely does not fit the bill. Here is a hint, leave any sort of living tissue out of your contest entry.

Limit 2 entries per person

All contest entries will be located in a single forum thread that you can find here
http://www.ninjaforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=841
keep replies to this topic limited to questions and comments.

This contest will end the evening of July 12th MST around midnight.

Good luck and may the creativity flow.!

I actually didn't get the idea properly Raidmax. Are you saying that we should make TWO creative solutions or two entries ? When you said "come up with a creative solution to a common problem", does this mean that we will have to provide a solution to a PC/software/hardware problem or a case related problem only ?

2ndly, we need to come up with a creative way to use one or two Lamptron products. This is clear to me though. :D

Well the common problem is this....

"what do you do with casemodding gear??"

Of course you mod cases with it, add some bling, etc...

However what I'm asking for in this contest is to come up with a creative way to use a Lamptron product. (ie the second part you mentioned)

For instance take the lighted power switches,
in the case modding world you would replace the power and reset buttons, but what if you were to add a start button to your car that lit up to let you know the engine was running??
The second part that talks about using 2 products was nothing more than to explain that you're not limited to use just one product in your creative idea, if you need/want to use more than one product go right ahead

I hope that makes sense.

oh and its Redmax, not Raidmax (the case mfg) ;)

This is a very very goood idea for a contest if you ask me, if a bit confuzzing.

So redmax you been talking to rita to get us these good contests?

Hmmm i have no real amazing need for eather of the products though the fan bay thing would look nice in my antec 900 infact it looks like it was made for a antec 900. But i think i will have a think about what i could do just because i like the idea.

Actually Rita came to me with the idea, I'm just trying to make it fun. I don't expect the same sort of enthusiasm we saw with the motherboard giveaway but still..

Yer good old rita :)

Yer the problem is is that few people want that prize ok its nice but its no NICE.

But i much prefer the idea of making people work for there prizes that way the prize is more likely to go to somone who really want it and has though about the competition for ages, it is kind of dishatining when some person who has only ever done 10 forum posts wins a component you really wanted. Plus a competition make it much more fun.

Hopefully people will enter just for the fun of entering.

O and guess what you can tell lamptron that there marketing works because of this compotition i actually looked at the lamptron website and it had some really nice products may have to buy some soon.

Well as many of you may have guessed, these contests are not only to promote the sites we partner with but also to help build the forum community up a bit.

But I know what you mean, modding gear in general is not always something people want. Heck there are some people out there that go "what a motherboard? why the hell do I want one of those"

No one else has come up with something yet but hopefully someone will post something.

Otherwise it will be my silly hat vs my silly hat.

I know that the handle picture was broken on the site, so thought I'd dig it up and share.

Ooo that is good because i was looking at the picture they have of the handles and was wondering what on earth the handle looked like. From what i can work out now there is another bit hiden in the picture so it is sort of two of the bits you see in the picture stuck together.

Lamptron Creative Use #2: I've bought the Lamptron Remote Control RC1 and wired it to both my BMW motorcycle cpu and start circut. Then I bypassed the clutch "pull before starting" switch. (see pictures below!) Next to my garage entrance from the house I have two (2) hooks. On one is the remote garage door open/close remote. On the other is the Lamptrom Remote Control RC1. I can now open the garage door and start my motorcycle without even going into the garage...until I get ready to leave! This will be great during the fall when the engine needs to warm up a little before taking off and by leaving the hand and seat heater on...everything is toasty warm on the way to work. tnv
