Trojan Disguised as a Keygen

Published: | Posted By:

WinBeta.org has uncovered a trojan scam involving a key generator for the leaked version of Longhorn. The program appeared to work as advertised but in the background a file named syscfg32 started to connect to an IRC channel over the Internet.
"We were a bit disappointed to find that it was a lame VB program, but good enough as long as it spits unique keys out. Its quick! spits out keys like crazy! We were more interested in it because LH keys are .NET keys.

Then weird things began to happen, a strange app called syscfg32 began trying to access the internet on IRC ports. hmmm

The winbeta security team decided to investigate."

The trojan will allow full access to your system by anyone with the right password so don't bother to download a file named longhornkeygen.exe
