Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 Review @ HardwareZone

I am currently using one of these new Maxtor drives and I am not at all impressed with the performance. For the money I would have much rather gotten a WD Special Edition drive or held out for one of the new Serial ATA drives.
"Although the DiamondMax Plus 9 is Maxtor's biggest and fastest drive in their performance desktop series, it however left us with a couple of mixed feelings. In the tests, it did managed to perform admirably well in Winbench 99, and from the scores, we were pretty convinced that it would fit into most desktops and even low-end workstations very well. However, its poor seek times did not do it much justice as its performance began to taper off at high workloads."
