Soltek SL-86SPE-L Review @ x-bit labs

Published: | Posted By:

The Violet Eyes SL-86SPE-L is really a pretty cool board that a ton of potential. It would seem that the x-bit labs guys have figured out how to increase the performance of the 86SPE.
"These jumpers allow setting the default processor frequency and feature four positions: Auto, 100MHz, 133MHz and 200MHz. Although we were very much surprised to see them onboard, we have to admit that these two jumpers are a great advantage of Soltek SL-86SPE-L. On the one hand, you can disregard them completely by setting them into Auto position. But on the other hand, they allow squeezing extra performance out of the board by enabling the so-called PAT technology."
It should be noted that the Springdale chipset, unlike the Canterwood, doesn't come with PAT and according to what I have read there is no way to enable it.

Curiosity will get the better of me, so expect a small update to our SL-86SPE-L review in the near future.
