Corsair TwinX-1024 XMS4400 Review @ GruntvillE.com

" The trickiest part of testing this new memory is the daunting task of finding a system capable of reaching 275 MHz on the front side bus. The Corsair people admitted they had difficulty putting together a reliable test system and I certainly did as well. My trusty 3GHz Intel preformed admirably, but even after several small pacts with the Devil and icing my water cooling reservoir I still couldn’t get a clean post beyond 267 MHz (4GHz)."
I think it is pretty safe to say that XMS4400 memory modules are designed for extreme speed though many reviewers have not looked at big picture. Current DDR500 modules come with very relaxed timings much like the first DDR500 modules so in theory with DDR550 modules you can run much tighter timings at DDR500 speeds. happy smile

When it comes to memory modules if the SPD info is configured correctly the timings will scale automatically.
