March 2010 Pegged For Major Intel, AMD Product Releases

Here we have some cool Intel/AMD processor roadmap stuff for the coming year.  Looks like i3 will be big in 2010 along with some Westmere Xeon action.  As youi may already know Westmere is a phatty 6 core hyperthreaded processor that can be used in multi socket server and workstation platforms. 

If you think about it Core I7 comes with 4 physical hyperthreaded cores and most desktop apps can't even touch the full potential the processor has to offer.  Kind of makes 12 to 24 "threads" just seem insane.  One nice thing is that on the server platform running virtual machines you can dedicate processors to each VM so that "could" be seen as a nice feature.
