CES Pre-Show Day 1 - ASUS Slate Tablet PC

CES doesn't officially open for 2 days but there are plenty of events taking place.  Its like a show before the show and given that it is almost impossible to see "everything" on display at CES it makes sense to have pre-conferences to help spread the word.

My first stop was an ASUS press conference where they showed off some of their new products complete with live demonstrations.  The hottest item there was the new EeePC Slate.  As the name suggests it is a tablet PC but instead of running some wimpy processor this thing comes with a Core i5 and reacts to both stylus and finger commands.

The demo consisted of watching the A-Team in 1080p while running thru a 20 step filter action in Photoshop.  Very impressive.

Look for it on sale in January for about a grand.
