ASUS Radeon RX 9060 XT Prime OC 16 GB @ TechPowerUp

Published: | Posted By:

TechPowerUp recently reviewed the ASUS Radeon RX 9060 XT Prime OC 16 GB, highlighting its compelling mix of price, performance, and features. Built on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture with a robust Navi 44 GPU, this card boasts a factory overclock to a 2741 MHz Game Clock and includes full support for AI-powered FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) and ray tracing acceleration. TechPowerUp notes that, in real-world testing, performance is “just slower than the more expensive RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB at 1080p, and only behind at 1440p,” while outpacing the standard RTX 5060 by at 1080p and 1440p. The PRIME OC’s strong thermal management and whisper-quiet operation under load, along with its plentiful 16 GB VRAM, eliminate stutters or VRAM throttling even in ray-traced workloads.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT launches at a highly competitive $350 price point, which is much lower than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB, yet the card offers similar performance. Thanks to the dual BIOS feature, noise levels of the ASUS Prime are incredible: whisper quiet!

In the concluding evaluation, TechPowerUp praises the card’s excellent value proposition, especially at the expected MSRP of $360, suggesting it’s a better buy than the RTX 5060 Ti at $430 thanks to its added VRAM and competitive performance. However, while FSR 4’s AI-upscaling shows impressive quality gains, the reviewer acknowledges that NVIDIA’s DLSS still leads in both performance and ecosystem support.

Overall, TechPowerUp concludes that the ASUS Prime OC offers a well-rounded package—strong 1080p/1440p gaming, expansive VRAM capacity, whisper-quiet cooling, and modern features—all at a budget-friendly price point.
