  • Razer Orochi Mouse & Kabuto Mouse Pad @ Bjorn3D

Published: Tuesday, November 17, 2009 | By: Will

Staying with the spirit of gaming we take a look at a gaming mouse review on the news today. Here is a cool mouse from Razer that will sure to help out those fraggin blues.

Lately Razer has been focusing more on niche products than all around gaming products. Take the Razer Naga which is designed specifically for MMOG, which is an exceptional online game mouse. Now they have ventured into mobile gaming and designed the Orochi Bluetooth and wired mouse. You get the convince of wireless Bluetooth operation and save your batteries for when your truly mobile. The Orochi has a small footprint but packs a big gaming punch for when your on the go. By some cruel twist of fate in our kit we also found a Kabuto mouse pad, and we were scheduled for a trip to California for a vendor meeting and factory tour so we took the Orochi and Kabuto out in the field for testing.

Looks pretty cool for all gamers.happy smile

Here is a few new PC games to keep you fingers twitching.

Left 4 Dead 2 (PC) Review @ Gamingheaven

"Left4Dead was one of the most successful multiplayer games in recent years so it made sense for Valve to follow this up with a sequel .... however a portion of the core audience felt it was a rash move to make one so quite so soon. Left4Dead2 we are happy to report however is a fantastic game and improves on the original in many ways."

Star Trek DAC (PC) Review @ Gamingheaven

"J.J. Abrams has created a Star Trek phenomenon lately with the release of his latest movie ‘reboot' of the franchise - even people who weren't interested in the franchise before have suddenly embraced the futuristic Sci FI romp with open arms. This is great news for Paramount Digital Entertainment who have just released their bargain priced Star Trek DAC game for the PC."
  • Russia Threatens Modern Warfare 2 Ban, Game Yanked From Shelves

Published: Monday, November 16, 2009 | By: Dennis

So I guess this is where Russia draws the line on how they want their country to be viewed in video games.

Apparently the thematic content of the controversial "No Russian" level in which players must choose whether to fire on innocent civilians in a Moscow airport managed to escape broad public notice before launch. It's not clear whether the threatened governmental ban came about because of the level's play mechanics (the compulsion to shoot and terrorize innocent civilians) or the fact that you play a CIA agent pretending to be a Russian ultranationalist pretending to be an American terrorist. Presumably someone's decided Russia comes off looking badly, and that America comes off looking nobler-than-thou (albeit, per the level in question, pretty single-minded about it).

Brace yourself. I suspect torrents of the game in Russia will skyrocket. cool smile

  • Intel to pay AMD $1.25 billion, settle disputes

Published: Friday, November 13, 2009 | By: Will

It looks like some sunshine has finally hit AMD for once. Now it is time to get some R&D going to take on the i5&i7 chips. Let's also hope that AMD moves in the right direction with this new found settlement, and does not screw it up.

Intel Corp will pay rival chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices Inc $1.25 billion to settle all outstanding legal disputes, in a move that can hasten the resolution of Intel's antitrust troubles.

AMD, whose shares jumped 22 percent, agreed to withdraw essentially all its regulatory complaints and litigation against Intel, ending a global campaign that it has waged on the world's largest chipmaker for 12 years.

Wonder what is up with Intel?wink smile

The weekend is coming and it is time to relax. So check out a few of these new PC games that you might want to play this weekend.

    Machinarium (PC) @ GamingHeaven

"Machinarium is a game many of you might not have heard about but it took the prize "Excellence In Visual Art" at this years's Independent Game Festival and when you first see it you will not be questioning why. The game actually represents a moving graphic novel rather than a traditional adventure game."

Star Trek Online (PC) Preview @ Gamingheaven

The Star Trek franchise is still massively popular and developer Cryptic Studios are hoping that by involving such a rich and diverse fantasy world they will get a huge portion of the game playing public interested in their new virtual Sci-Fi based MMO universe.

Dragon Age Origins (PC) @ Technic3D

"From BioWare, the makers of Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Baldur's Gate comes Dragon Age: Origins. An epic tale of violence, lust, and betrayal, Dragon Age: Origins is a single player role-playing game (RPG) set in a fantasy game environment, and featuring three playable character classes, accessible in the form of three races. In addition, the game features extreme character customization, a new game engine, party-based gameplay utilizing non-player characters and a built-in personal history system for each hero character rooted in a variety of possible origin stories. The new King of RPG in 2009? See you in the following Review from Technic3D."
  • Lucid Hydra 200 Multi-GPU Performance Revealed @ HotHardware

Published: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 | By: Will

We here at Ninjalane have been waiting very impatiently to see some results on the new Lucid chips. Time to settle in and feed our minds with great new possibilites on the destruction of Crossfire and SLI.

About a year ago, semiconductor startup Lucid Logix began making waves in the graphics space with claims of being able to revolutionize multi-GPU computing, promising consumers the ability to pair any graphics card, unrestricted by model or vendor, to another card and achieve highly efficient load balancing with near linear performance increases. This option presumably provides consumers the flexibility to buy an ATI graphics card, install it next to an NVIDIA model on the same motherboard, and see a boost in graphics rendering performance close to the sum of both individual components. We recently got the chance to test a Hydra-enabled system with a number of graphics card, and have our results posted right here...

Okay maybe I just have an appetite for destruction is all.tongue smile

  • High-End P55 Motherboards @ InsideHW

Published: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 | By: Will

Being on the subject of P55 Chipset motherboards. Lets get some reading done on the High-End stuff that us enthusiasts enjoy.

"Intel Core i5 and Core i7 CPUs that are compatible with LGA1156 socket, slowly but steadily are becoming interesting choice for wider user group because this socket is direct descendant of "good old" LGA775 and, of course, price drops. Intel P55 chipset is, basically, following footsteps of previous P chipsets (P965, P35, and P45). It is obvious that soon there will be many P55 based motherboards. For now we got two models signed by ASUS and Biostar which are based on same chipset but present two totally different solutions to the same problem..."

  • ASUS P7P55D Deluxe Motherboard Review @ t-break

Published: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 | By: Will

The P55 chipset motherboards are out and looking cooler than ever. Seems like every motherboard manufacture has an overclocking featuer for each board as well. This Asus in the review has a remote contol for overclocking.

"The TurboV is a wired remote that connects to the motherboard and is routed out the back of the I/O panel. It includes A, B and C profile buttons, a power button, a +/- button for under and overclocking and manual and auto mode buttons."

I some day see coach potato over clockers in the future.big grin smile

  • Darkest Of Days Physx @ Bjorn3D

Published: Tuesday, November 10, 2009 | By: Dennis

Here is some PhsyX testing using Darkest Days,  Kind of ironic that this article goes live a few days after our own PhysX performance evaluation.

Here is a snip, complete with misspellings fixed, seems they were in such a rush they forgot to run spell check on the email before sending them out to everyone.

Nvidia a maker of some of the world's fastest GPU's has come up with ways to break this normal everyday cycle of just leaving only black marks, or small holes in walls, or trees. An environment that interacts with the gamers is desirable. Smoke that reacts around the player as he walks through it, and loose leaves and paper that blow around and react to the environment are always a nice addition. With PhysX we can shoot at a wall or trees (or anything for that matter), there's more than just black marks and small holes; there are bits and pieces of what we just shot at. Lets step into a world known as Physx.

If you have any questions or comments related to this article or the PhysX performance evaluation please visit the Ninjalane Message Forum and let us know.

  • All DirectX 11 Graphics Cards @ InsideHW

Published: Monday, November 9, 2009 | By: Will

"After launch of their high-end models, in form of Radeon 58XX series, we expected that ATI would release products that would fill mid and low range lineup as they did with previous generation. Except slightly "crippled" 5870 in form of 5850, we had chance to test two graphics cards from mid range: 5770 and 5750. Good news is that all 57XX graphics cards also support DX11 with Shader model 5, hardware tessellation and ATI Eyefinity technologies..."
