Crysis Warhead
Published: Friday, October 10, 2008 | By: WillCrysis Warhead is one of the best looking games to date. The graphics are killer and the game play has been tuned just in the right way. I just finished playing this game and loved it all the way. So let's look at some other websites take on Crysis Warhead.
Crysis Warhead Reviewed @ TestFreaks.com
"Crysis Warhead is probably one of the most anticipated games of 2007, ever since the success of Crysis, fans have been patiently awaiting a release of a sequel. So, Crysis Warhead was released, but it's not really a sequel, as much as part of the original story, just played from a different point of view. "
Crysis Warhead Hardware Performance Review @ Hardware Canucks
"When Crysis Warhead was first announced, the issue of optimization for lower-end systems was a critical factor in its creation. Crytek even went so far as to design a "budget" gaming machine that became a focal point for optimization. Along with making the game a little more system friendly, they also worked on improving the graphics quality to keep the CryEngine the king of visual performance. However, questions surrounding a system's ability to tame the beast still remains."
Enjoy the reading, and take advantage of picking this game up if you get a chance. It is well worth it.

AMD to spin off factories in bid to save money @ AP
Published: Tuesday, October 7, 2008 | By: WillWe have been hearing the echo of this in the industry for a little while. Well it is now a reality for AMD to spin off it's factories. Let's all hope that this makes AMD stronger , and help get capitol for R&D.
"In a move to dramatically cut costs and better compete with Intel Corp., chip maker Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said Tuesday it will spin off its factories into a new joint venture with investors in the Persian Gulf state of Abu Dhabi.
The deal should shore up AMD's finances and let it focus on the design and development of computer chips. The new venture, to be based in the U.S. and for now called Foundry Co., will include AMD's manufacturing plants, including two in Dresden, Germany."
If the new Intel processors don't please the masses. Then AMD might have a good fighting chance with this new turn of events.

ATI: DX11, 40nm GPUs on track for a 2009 launch @ ARS Technica
Published: Monday, October 6, 2008 | By: WillThis has become big news for a couple reasons. Well the first one is that Windows 7 is coming out in 2009. I mean that is the biggest news right. Oh Yeah, ATI is doing something in that time frame to.
"ATI has announced that it expects to see DirectX 11 GPUs appear in 2009, implying that the company intends to launch its own DX11-compliant cards within the next 12-14 months. The company is currently showcasing a variety of next-generation graphics technologies at the Japanese trade show Ceatec, as well as discussing its upcoming transition to 40nm process technology and the rise of GPGPU."
I'm not so sure about the Windows 7 rumor, but I want to say congrats to ATI for keeping the technology flowing for the future. Let's just hope they last that long.

New Intel Core I7 cannot handle High Performance DDR3 RAM @ The Inquirer
Published: Monday, October 6, 2008 | By: WillWhen info is posted on The Inquirer you have to get a big grain of salt. Well this time they look like they are hitting the nail on the head with real information. Looks like DDR3 is going to need some work to get this right.
"WE GOT WORD that Intel is adivising mobo-makers and memory vendors alike about their new X58+Core i7 combo and to abide to a strict 1.65V limit on memory voltages, beyond which there is the risk of burning out the CPU."
Hey I wonder how AMD is doing right now?

Free Anti-Virus Roundup @ Velocity Reviews
Published: Monday, October 6, 2008 | By: WillVery good read here everyone. I know I tend to love using the free anti-virus over the pay for type. Time to look at what you get for what you didn't have to pay for.
"Although it isn't possible to fully protect your computer from a huge array of viral, spyware, and other malware threats, a good anti-virus application goes a long way to securing your PC. Now that most computers are permanently connected to the internet, it is more important than ever to ensure you have an up-to-date and reliable anti-virus package on your computer. Some people still don't have any installed, thinking that because they are careful what they download, they will be safe. Others don't like the thought of losing even the slightest amount of performance from their PC. However, the importance of getting a good virus scanner cannot be underestimated - and this lesson is often only learned after a virus infection."
I'll take my freebie over the big boys anyday.

Corsair DDR3-1,600MHz: worth the premium over DDR2? @ Hexus
Published: Monday, October 6, 2008 | By: WillThis is the question for every newer technology over taking the older technology. I am still very interested on what the out come is for Hexus on this very subject though. So settle in and read it up guys.
"Depending upon who you talk to in the industry, DDR3 is either hideously expensive and marginally pointless, or it's the best thing since sliced bread - breaking bandwidth barriers that inhibit system performance."
DDR3>DDR2?
