MSI P4N Diamond @ t-break
Published: Wednesday, April 27, 2005 | By: DennisIt is kind of strange to see a non-Intel chipset running an Intel processor. Know I know there are others like VIA and SIS but how often do you see them in the performance arena.
"nVidia certainly chose the right path by re-introducing SLI in a PCI-E platform with their nForce4 chipset. We say this because it seems as though other chipset manufacturers are going to be jumping on the “multi video cards” bandwagon soon. However, nVidia was the first with it on the AMD platform and they’re first with it on the Intel platform as well as we look at the P4N Diamond from SLI. If you remember correctly, MSI was also the first one to send us their AMD based SLI board." -
GigaByte GA-K8N Ultra-9 Review @ Techniz
Published: Wednesday, April 27, 2005 | By: DennisThe face of motherboards has changed in recent times and mostly due to the lack of performance deviation on the Athlon64 platform. Because of this many mobo makers are now pushing to expand their available features in hopes of capturing market share.
"In the MB Intelligent Tweakers( M.I.T ) page, the lowest part is the M.I.B.2 feature, Select "Enabled" to activate M.I.B.2 function and select the Vendor/Brand of the memory chips to enable the auto-overclocking. " -
AMD to Adopt DDR500 Officially @ CoolTechZone
Published: Monday, April 25, 2005 | By: DennisNot sure how true this really is but the performance numbers do not lie.
"Up until today, DDR400 has been the official memory standard for majority of the platforms, but Intel made the change to DDR2, and now it's AMD's turn to make a change to their platform. According to an insider source, AMD has plans to adopt DDR500 as its official memory standard in the very near future." -
The Return of Netscape - Firefox and Thunderbird
Published: Monday, April 25, 2005 | By: DennisNot really Netscape technologies but the Mozilla/Firefox rendering engine is what powers NS version 6, 7 and 8.
"When the Internet revolution began, there were two popular browsers - IE and Netscape Navigator. They were a hot topic argued by the Internet community debating which browser is better on various aspects of comparison. Finally, after many years of browser war struggle, Netscape Navigator was toppled when IE 4.0 was launched. The fourth incarnation from Microsoft became a huge success because it loaded faster and the fact that it was pre-loaded on every Window-based PC made it more popular. "
If you go even further back there was no IE and Netscape reigned supreme.
btw a supreme would be the number 2, while I prefer the 8+6.
I have a shiny forum title and maybe some computer stuff to whoever is first to email me with info to decode the above message. -
XFX 6600 GT overclocking @ origo3D
Published: Monday, April 25, 2005 | By: DennisThe site isn't in English but I think google or altavista will translate the content into just about any language you want.
"Last week we have tested the overclocking performance of a XFX 6600 GT. The 6600 GT cards are very in demand, because the performance is okay and the price low. Also the high overclocking results are reason for purchase. Our result: 615/1250 only with air cooling." -
Happy Weekend Everyone
Published: Saturday, April 23, 2005 | By: DennisWell I have some good news! It isn't really related to the website directly but the house that I’ve been building, for waaaayyyyyy too long I might add, has been approved for occupancy!
So begins a new phase, provided that the loan can be closed this month, I will never have to pay rent again.
I'm going to be taking some final photos once the landscaping is in and hopefully plaster them all over Ninjalane for everyone to see, you might even be able to see the *new* Ninjalane Labs. -
Freezer Series for Athlon 64 @ techPowerUp
Published: Thursday, April 21, 2005 | By: DennisWatercooling for the SLI enabled nForce4, I never much thought about it but given the placement of the 2 cards cooling the MCP could prove to be a challenge.
"Now you ask, why? The nForce4's stock cooler has to run rather fast to keep the chipset cool. This produces a relatively loud and annoying fan noise. Watercooling helps reduce this noise, because instead of that small loud fan you can use a slow-turning 120mm fan." -
Crucial Memory Reviews
Published: Thursday, April 21, 2005 | By: DennisWhile Crucial has never sent me any products for review I for some reason keep posting news related to their products. I suppose if I'm going to break the Crucial barrier I'm gonna need a few sidewinder missiles and some cold hard cash, cash for the mems and the missiles for blasting a hole into the side of their warehouse.
- Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 1GB DC Kit @ InsaneTek
- Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300 DDR2 Memory Kit @ EXTREME Overclocking
Now just watch some poor sucker will blast a hole into the side of the Crucial warehouse and I'll get blamed for it.
Be sure to check back for more Crucial bashing and maybe an eventual review. -

Published: Tuesday, April 19, 2005 | By: Dennisis it just me or did Zalman do something very similar to this not to long ago?? I like the concept, it is very clean and will be super quiet but based on the size, your computer room will be quite a bit smaller when you are done.
