Corsair TwinX1024-3200LLPRO Review @ TechIMO
Published: Friday, December 19, 2003 | By: Dennis"A few changes were required in order for us to seek the maximum overclock possible. Timings were relaxed to a still respectable level of 2.5-3-3-6. All “performance acceleration” settings were disabled, boot-strap mode was configured t0 800 MHz, and the DDR voltage was slammed directly to our motherboard’s highest setting, a somewhat dangerous 3.2 volts."
And then took the modules all the way to 240Mhz!!
We tested the same ram modules and actually attained a 220Mhz overclock without any timing adjustments at all. Needless to say the new ProSeries has quite the overclocking headroom. -
Extreme Duo: DFI LanParty Pro875B Review Posted
Published: Friday, December 19, 2003 | By: DennisMany things in the technology sector are subject to continual updates and reconfigurations. Even though this practice isn't normally seen in the motherboard world that doesn't mean it will never happen. Case in point, the new DFI LanParty Pro875(B). Now with CMOS Reloaded Technology

Hollywood @ Home 7.1 Review @ NordicHardware
Published: Thursday, December 18, 2003 | By: Dennis"First of all, Gainward is known as a manufacturer of graphics cards, which made me look at this as a side-track. This does not necessarily mean that it is a bad thing, so let us look at what Gainward has to offer us on the front of soundcards."
In this case the sound card is based on a very popular VIA chip called the Envy24 HT-S. This is a flexible 24-bit audio processor that is found on many of the newer 7.1 sound cards and even high-end motherboards like the Chaintech ZNF3-150. -
Corsair TwinX1024-3200LLPro @ CyberCPU
Published: Thursday, December 18, 2003 | By: Dennis"If there's one thing I have noticed since I have been building AMD and Intel dual channel platforms is you have to get good quality memory and particularly on the Nforce 2 motherboard you need to have it exactly matched. Even though the tests we did today did not show huge performance increases it did show performance increases in every test just small ones."
Technically the reason for this is due to the minor memory timing differences with each stick of memory. These minor timing changes are outside of the standard RAS CAS timings that we all are familiar with. -
Taiwan Stocks Tumble due to Winter SARS Case
Published: Thursday, December 18, 2003 | By: DennisNews of the weird, though does pose a problem.
"The CDC said that the patient is a 44-year-old male researcher working at the Institute of Preventive Medicine in Taipei. The institute is under the National Defense University and sponsored by the National Science Council (NSC).
The researcher had been studying SARS at Taiwan’s only P4 laboratory, and the laboratory is suspected to be the infection source. However, further investigation is required, the CDC said in a statement."
