Albatron FX5600P Turbo Review @ ViperLair
Published: Wednesday, November 26, 2003 | By: Dennis"I was able to achieve a maximum of 360MHz core clock and a whopping 715MHz on the memory. That works out to a 230MHz over clock on the memory when you take into account that it is DDR. The 3.3ns Samsung ram really paid off in this case. Going any higher than these speeds would cause image degradation and system lockups."
Pretty good overclock for an FX5600 though for a few extra bux I'd suggest buying a FX 5600 Ultra or FX5700 for better overall performance. -
Soltek SL-865-GR Review @ PC Guide
Published: Wednesday, November 26, 2003 | By: Dennis" We easily managed to get the CPU up to 220FSB, making the 3.0GHz to almost 3.4GHz without any problems and this gave a nice extra boost of grunt behind the system. With more time I'm sure you could push it little higher with Voltage increases, although please be aware that when over clocking can potential damage your hardware and you do so at your own risk."
For some that is part of the fun.We just reviewed the Soltek SL-865-GR as well and came to a similar conclusion.

A Couple Case Reviews
Published: Tuesday, November 25, 2003 | By: DennisChoosing the right case can be a difficult task.
- CMI Mercedes and BMW Case Reviews @ FastLaneHW
- Maxtop Signature Series IV Case Review @ PCA
My advice, look for a solid un-modded case and avoid the tinfoil cases that have become commonplace as the staple of the evil pre-mod.
Visually you can tell the good cases from bad ones by the interior metal finish. If the metal is shiny and reflective, the case is crap. If the metal is grey with a dull finish you might be on to something. -
PC4000 HyperX Examined @ Legit Reviews
Published: Tuesday, November 25, 2003 | By: Dennis"Once you decode the IC's found on these modules you can tell both of these IC's are rated at identical CAS Latencies for DDR400 performance! Since they are being used in DDR500 modules will they still perform the same?"
The Legit Reviews gang dives deep into New HyperX memory vs. Old HyperX memory to discover that the modules....

Being a newer and much smaller player than Nvidia and ATI, XGI is prioritizing Europe as its first target market, as it is easier to find reasonably-sized partners in the various national markets." -
Intel to cut P4 chipset prices
Published: Tuesday, November 25, 2003 | By: Dennis"Intel, preparing for its upcoming Grantsdale line, will cut 865 series chipset pricing by as much as 6.3% on December 28.
According to Intel’s roadmap, it will launch Grantsdale P and Grantsdale G chipsets supporting the new-generation Socket T (LGA775) Prescott processor in the second quarter of 2004. Since the entry-level Grantsdale GV and Grantsdale GL will not be introduced until the third quarter of next year, Intel has decided to keep the prices of the 845 series flat, with the exception of the 845GE chipset."
I haven't actually seen a Socket T yet. -
