BFG Asylum FX 5900 Ultra Review @ Bjorn3D
Published: Thursday, September 11, 2003 | By: DennisIt would seem that BFG has installed some customizations on their 5900 Ultra offering.
"Instead of the one fan design of the reference design, BFG has two fans on the front of the card. While it still is a two-PCI solution, the actual cooling system does not really use so much space over the second PCI slot as some other solutions I’ve seen. "

COOLINK Typhoon P4 Waterblock Review @ MadShrimps
Published: Thursday, September 11, 2003 | By: Dennisphj34r the m4d small lobsters!
I really like this kit since it comes with a backerplate for the motherboard. Not many heatsinks come with this little item and even fewer motherboads have them anymore.
"Xtreme Tek Werkz was also so considerate to include the optional mounting system which, according to Coolink, is a "heavy duty" retention mechanism guaranteed to provide a higher clamping pressure on the CPU." -
Gainward CoolFX Review @ ModFathers
Published: Thursday, September 11, 2003 | By: DennisAt around the time the GeForce FX5800 hit the market Gainward began hinting at a slick new watercooling system for the super hot video card. ModFathers just happens to have a review of the system along with some detailed photos.
I couldn't help but notice that the whole kit seemed a little familiar, some further checks confirmed it, everything except for the waterblocks are from innovatek. Not very creative but it gets the job done. -

Gainward Ultra 760XP Video Card Review Posted
Published: Wednesday, September 10, 2003 | By: DennisThe Gainward Ultra 760XP isn't what we would call an ultra gamer's video card but it does fill a pretty important gap for the mainstream system builder or weekend gamer in search of an affordable upgrade.

Father of H-bomb Dies
Published: Wednesday, September 10, 2003 | By: Dennis"Some might not agree with his intensity and politics and so forth, but everyone respected him," Bob Kuckuck, a former lab deputy director, said Tuesday evening. "You couldn't interact with Edward without feeling he was three or four magnitudes deeper than you were on an issue."
Now that is one smart cookie, he will be missed. -

COOLINK Cool Tank1 Review @ MadShrimps
Published: Wednesday, September 10, 2003 | By: Dennis"When I opened the side-panel of the Superflower case I saw a drop in CPU load temperature to 40°C, shortly followed by a noticeable slow-down of the CPU fan, which then only produced a medium humming noise. When running at full speed it is considerably louder and can't really be called a "silent" solution."
The cool thing about this heatsink is that they put the thermal probe in the right spot, smack dab in the center of the heatsink and far away from the fan. -
PolarFLO Water Block Review @ Systemcooling
Published: Tuesday, September 9, 2003 | By: DennisSystemcooling is looking at the 3-port water block called the PolarFLO. Maybe it is just me but this new design appears to be getting quite popular.
"The PolarFLO is an impressive looking block, and the quality of machining rivals some of the mainstream manufacturer products out there. It definitely rates high in appearance for exterior fit and finish. The base checked flat with my machinist straight edge and upon removal I found a good imprint in the thermal compound from the CPU die." -
Mission II water Cooling @ GideonTech
Published: Tuesday, September 9, 2003 | By: Dennis"For the test, I will be using my media server. It houses over 500GB of storage space for music and movies, outputted to my home theatre system. The CPU is a P4 1.6a capable of running at a nice 133FSB (2.1Ghz)."
Its not very smart to overclock a server since data corruption is such a common occurrence, but to each their own.
