  • Working with Acrylic @ PimpRig

Published: Tuesday, November 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

"After purchasing a small tube of Acrylic Cement for 19.99 for a duct I recently did, and a quick check of the active ingredients, I figured I'd better cook up my own. Hell, I've got enough acrylic shavings and dust to make a snow scene this Christmas, so I might as well put it to good use."
As you might have guessed there is more than one way to work with acrylic. tongue smile

  • Biostar iDEQ 200T SFF System @ Bjorn3d

Published: Tuesday, November 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

"So where does that take us? The competition can obviously pull the easy checkmate and take what's good about the Shuttle XPCs and then improve them by making their own SFF systems quieter, smaller, a little bigger, better, and so on."
Is it just me or does this little Biostar box look a little like the first Qbic cases from Soltek??

  • Interactive Pin-Mod guide v1.2 @ ocinside

Published: Tuesday, November 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

These little interactive guides are really fun to play with and I must say there is quite a bit of talent behind their development. Not only does the person need to know how to complete the mods but they also need to know a fair amount of JavaScript to make it work.
"Very important, if you've already an option to change the multi in your BIOS, you HAVE TO change this multiplier to "Autodetect" !!!"

  • Corsair Twinx1024x-3700LL @ Rbmods

Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: Dennis

R&B Mods takes a look at one of the fastest Corsair's TwinX memory packs. This is a Low Latency (LL) modules, which should matter more to AMD system owners. Check it out.
"Awhile back we reviewed TwinX3200 memory from Corsair. Tonite it's time for a newer version called 3700. This is going to be tested with some heavy overclocking as usual. We are also going to have a look at the timings etc that this memory can run at. We know that Corsair makes great sticks of memory and they really hold the spot as one of the greatest memory manufacturers. Let's have a look how this pair of 2*512 sticks can perform."

  • ASUS K8V Deluxe (Via K8T800) @ TheCrucible

Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: Dennis

Even though 64 bit systems are still too expensive for most, there still is a constant flow of motherboards being released for those few lucky ones, that can afford it. If you're in a market for one, check this one out, because it seems to be a winner.
"With the release of AMD's Athlon64 microprocessor a whole slew of new Socket754 motherboards have hit the market. ASUS has long been know to produce some of the best motherboards available. With a long tradition of quality, ASUS steps into the enthusiasts ring with the K8V Deluxe. ASUS has finally moved away from the bland and boring yellow/brown PCB and brings the K8V Deluxe in with a slick black PCB, yellow PCI slots and blue north bridge heatsink. It all makes for very attractive package."

  • Powercolor Radeon 9800 XT Video Card Review @ Overclockers Club

Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: Dennis

ATI still seem to be dominating the enthusiast market these days after their flagship 9800XT was released. Though, that's what R300 should be thanked for. Let's just hope nVidia will put up some serious competition with their NV40.
"The competition in the graphics industry today is very competitive and fierce. NVidia was on top of the competition a couple of years ago, while ATI was right on their heels. Over the past year and a half the tides have turned, and now ATI has the most sought after video cards for gamers. The only accurate way of knowing who has the better card is to run extensive testing of real world games and comparing the image quality to the competitor's card. Today, we're looking at the Radeon 9800 XT video card from Powercolor. To see how the Radeon 9800 XT stacks up, read on!"

  • Corsair CMX256-3200C2 DDR RAM Review @ All Hardware Zone

Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: Dennis

PC3200 memory can still be a good choice for those people that don't intend to insanely overclock their systems, but want 200mhz FSB out of the box.
"Rated for 200mhz at 2-3-3-6, we were able to run quicker latencies at higher frequencies, and PC3500 speeds were possible at stock timings. If you are planning on a new, non-overclocked computer and want low latencies, then this RAM would be a good choice. If you are expecting massive overclocks with no regard for latencies, shop elsewhere."

  • Wahoo Chilli Pro Case Review @ Modsynergy

Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: Dennis

"The Chilli Pro case offered through Wahoo Computers is not a case that I’d like to have. I’m not speaking for all of you but I think you don’t either. Even if your motherboard fits, you will literally have different problems to deal with.
Even the small things aren’t right such as the sliding rubber feet and the plastic base. This whole case is a disaster. Stay away. Literally."

This isn't the first time that we have seen a case similar to this and as their photo essay unfolds it becomes clear that the case designers didn't think things out to well.

  • Long Weekend

Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: Dennis

Man what a long weekend, but it was fairly productive and fun at the same time. Of the things accomplished we have the new Ninjalane Forum at Ninjaforum.com. It is online and appears to be working like a champ. I also did some work on the new Ninjalane forum theme; it’s about 75% done.

Ninjalane.com will be moving to the new server later this week. The site should be quite a bit faster and with any luck that will be the only 'issue' tongue smile
