  • Prototype iLoo to Debut at Summer Festivals

Published: Wednesday, May 7, 2003 | By: Dennis

Not a bad idea, a port-a-potty with Internet access that even includes a plasma screen for easy viewing.
"Davies also raised concerns about the long lines. "Like my father always said: "Get in, get it out, get out,"" he said. Whittingham agreed people might take longer in the toilet because of the Internet access. "If they take too long — say, hours — we’ll probably bang on the door or something," he said.

Security is another issue. Because of the expensive hardware inside, Microsoft plans to post a guard to protect the iLoo. "

Do you think the guard will be armed?? tongue smile

  • Innovatek Watercooler Review @ Systemcooling

Published: Tuesday, May 6, 2003 | By: Dennis

"Innovatek is based in Germany and uses a low flow approach to CPU cooling with a highly efficient water block design. They manufacture and sell individual components as well as offering complete kits for both AMD Socket A and Intel P4, Socket 478. We have the Socket A kit to evaluate."
I just ordered the Pentium 4 version of this kit from Xoxide the other day and should be here pretty soon.

  • Aopen AX4C MAX Preview @ Legit Reviews

Published: Tuesday, May 6, 2003 | By: Dennis

Not sure how "Preview" this review really is but hey they can do what they want. For the most part everything "fun" is included.
"This is where we see the Dual Channel DDR really kick in... The scores here show how this board really shines when overclocked. Just to show you the high FSB capabilities of this board with a 533 FSB chip, we set the fsb to 190!"
    Not bad. happy smile

  • Abit IC7-G Max2 Review @ OCAddiction

Published: Monday, May 5, 2003 | By: Dennis

I was looking at Canterwood boards over the weekend and according to Pricewatch the IC7 is the least expensive one you can buy at this time. (out of the 3 listed) The only problem is that nobody seemed to have any of them in stock. sad smile
"Notice the AGP Pro 50 slot. For the majority of users out there we won't actually be utilizing the port with an AGP Pro 50 compliant video card. Therefore you'll need to leave the small plastic retention piece in place. This prevents the standard AGP Card from sliding back and forth and possibly causing some major havoc."

  • Modders Mesh Review @ The TechLounge

Published: Monday, May 5, 2003 | By: Dennis

Lounge Lizards unite! I always seem to link of Leisure Suit Larry for some reason. wink smile
" I received the Modder's Mesh in a giant, thin package. The edges if the mesh are rather sharp, and managed to cut along the sides of the package. UPS also managed to bend some corners of the mesh. They can be easily bent back in to place, so it's all good."
Personally I wouldn't ever use this stuff for fan grils but it does make for a nice window backdrop. Xoxide has the stuff in stock and currently on sale.

  • ANTEC Side Window Panel Review @ VoidedWarranty

Published: Monday, May 5, 2003 | By: Dennis

Side window with a fan mount, sounds like something I did back in 2000. Seriously though the molded fan grill may look nice in pictures but looks pretty lame in person.

  • Lian Li PC-6010 Review @ Techware Labs

Published: Sunday, May 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

"The faceplate lighting in the lower portion of the case is the very first thing you will notice about this case. It is a sharp effect that sets this case off out of the box. No installation required other than plugging in the power connection. The LED effect cycles between seven colors, red, blue, green , red and blue, green and blue, red and green, then red with blue and green. The combined LED lighting creates some very nice colors."
Not bad for a "stock" case. happy smile

  • Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000 Review @ Finclockers

Published: Sunday, May 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

As you might have guessed this review is not in English but the graphs are pretty universal. The board under review is based on the new, yet to be released, Springdale chipset from Intel but doesn't seem to bench any better than the ole Granite Bay chipset. Check it out for yourself.

  • Cooler Master Aero7 Review @ RadiativeNZ

Published: Sunday, May 4, 2003 | By: Dennis

This is becoming a very popular heatsink.
"The fan, as earlier mentioned, is a squirrelcage/blower type. It measures in at 70mm cubed (70 x 70 x 70) and is rated for 7 to 13.8v operation. The fan voltage is controlled manually by a potentiometer, in much the same way as the Aero7's stablemate the XDream does."

  • 400MHz FSB Athlon in mid-May, Intel to follow

Published: Friday, May 2, 2003 | By: Dennis

"Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) is set to launch its new 400MHz FSB (front-side bus) Athlon XP processors in mid-May, shortly before rival Intel adds the top-end 3.2GHz Pentium 4 processor into its product line on May 21, motherboard makers revealed."
    --snip--
"Following the launch of its first 800MHz FSB-based P4, running at 3GHz, on April 14, Intel is set to introduce the 2.4, 2.6 and 2.8GHz models on May 21 along with its 865 (Springdale) series chipsets. According to motherboard sources, the chipmaker in fact will announce the 3.2GHz model together as well."
Be sure to check out the chart.
