Companies to Profit from Mitsubishi-Hitachi Merger

The main company to benefit from the merger is Taiwan's Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC) being that they will be supplying the logic IC's to what will become Japan's largest semiconductor firm.

"Mitsubishi Electric and Hitachi announced on October 3 that they will merge their system LSI operations into a new company called Renasas Technology, with Hitachi holding a 55% stake and Mitsubishi 45%. According to sources, the combined investment will total 50 billion yen (about US$400 million)."
