"I checked the inverter's manual and it mentioned that the inverter should be directly connected to the battery in order for it to power devices with a power rating of 200W and above. I did so and it still cannot keep the system up for more than two minutes! I can only summarize that I need a bigger battery...

Check back for more updates while I try to hook a second battery to my car!"

I have quite a lot of experience putting rather large stereos into cars. The amps used would draw a considerable amount of power, required 4+-gauge wire to run and generated a ton of heat. The first things installed just to handle the increased power draw would be a deep cycle battery, followed by a high output alternator. Considering the power draw I’m thinking that he is going to need more than just a bigger battery to make this thing work. big grin smile

I have yet to tackle the whole computer in a car thing but the way I see it the better solution would be to get a 12v power supply and mod it into the tiny shuttle case. You won't need an inverter and won't need an extra battery.
