"Intel said it won't have any drivers for future Grantsdale/Alderwood chipsets. I think it's about time to use its commercial names, 925P and 915P for discrete and 915G for the one with integrated graphics."
Those buggers! It would appear that the reasons behind this surprise move are based on Microsoft support, or the lack thereof. Intel figures that since Microsoft has disbanded DOS based OS's they can do the same.
I'm going to venture a guess saying that Linux will also be unsupported since Microsoft has disbanded that OS as well.
