Most people view the Pentium M as a mobile processor and for the most part you would be correct. The Pentium M is designed for mobile applications that typically have power limitations and strict guidelines as to heat output. Well all of those mobile'esq qualities have come to the desktop with the help of some special motherboards.
"Intel does not want this Pentium M to be used in desktop PC's so you won't see a Dell or HP tower with an "M" tag any time soon. Third party motherboard manufacturers however have taken it upon themselves to give the enthusiast a possibility to run these laptops CPU in desktop motherboards."
