Foxconn to begin shipping own-brand graphics cards

"Taiwan EMS giant Foxconn Electronics (the registered trade name of Hon Hai Precision Industry) launched its first own-brand graphics card (PX7900GTX), which is based on the Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT/GTX (G71) graphics processing unit (GPU), at the ongoing CeBIT 2006 in Hannover, Germany.

Foxconn stated that it will also be partnering with ATI Technologies on graphics card production. The company will establish a brand new graphics card product line, and hopes to begin shipping own-brand graphics cards in the first half of this year.

Although industry players are concerned about the business outlook for Foxconn’s affiliate companies, Leadtek Research and Tul, both companies claimed ignorance about the news."
