Intel Core i5-750 Overclocking Preview @ HardOCP
Published: Tuesday, August 25, 2009 | By: WillLooks like Fry's dropped the ball and let some Core i5 out into the wild. Also looks like the gang at HardOCP got ahold of one to torture.
Our first preview of our Intel Core i5 processor that we purchased online last week. We put the 2.66GHz Core i5 model 750 through some overclocking paces to show you what can be achieved easily with an enthusiast air cooler.
I think we need to take action against the torture of these poor innocent processors.
Intel can give Ninjalane a couple to protect.

Gigabyte, Intel, Kingston Lynnfield Core i5/i7 Demo @ Bjorn3D
Published: Monday, August 24, 2009 | By: WillIs the Core i5 here yet? Everyone is very antsy to get ahold of it.
"We recently made a meeting in California for the Gigabyte, Intel, Kingston Lynnfield Core i5/i7 demo on Gigabyte boards with Kingston HyperX. We have to tell you we've seen Nirvana and it was good. Imagine a room full of some of the industries leading people and having hours on end to pick their brains. Sheer nerd Nirvana.
With all the brain picking and idea bouncing going on we still had time to see some boards, get a peek at i5/i7 demonstration, look at the Kingston HyperX lineup for i5/i7, and spent copious time attending our drool towels."It's almost here are you ready?

NL: PC Game Reviews Roundup
Published: Monday, August 24, 2009 | By: WillIt's been a while but here is another PC Game Reviews Roundup. Okay, maybe it is just a Wolfenstein Roundup.
"The Second World War is one of the darkest times for Europe and also the basis for many first person shooter. Back in MS DOS times Wolfenstein was already one of the most favourite games when looking at fps-games. The latest title from id Software is name simply Wolfenstein and tries to bring the successful story to the next level."
Wolfenstein (2009) PC Review @ Gamingheaven
"We recently reviewed the console version of Wolfenstein 2009 and we came away a little unimpressed with the overall experience - even though the core gameplay was pretty good. By no means a bad game it however didn't knock our socks off - something we are hoping the PC version might rectify today."

Windows 7 vs. Vista CPU & Memory Performance Comparison @ TweakTown
Published: Friday, August 21, 2009 | By: WillWe just recently looked at a GPU performance of the 2 Windows Operating Systems. I guess it is time to look at the Memory Performance.
"We've had a good look into the VGA side of things when it comes to Windows 7. However, while for many people that's the most important section, it's not all of it. Today we'll be having a closer look at how some of the other components in our system run under the new operating system due out in just a few months.
Today we'll be looking at two core components; the memory and the CPU. We'll be using a triple channel memory configuration with our Core i7 920 processor clocked at 4GHz. We'll be running our testbed through our standard memory benchmark line-up which does a good job of testing both the memory and CPU."It's almost here.

Asrock Ion 330 Nettop PC @ Pro-Clockers
Published: Friday, August 21, 2009 | By: DennisWe have all heard of the nVidia Ion, but finding companies that are using Ion has been rather difficult. Well here is a review of an extremely small Ion based "Nettop" computer. (I'm guessing it's like a netbook without the screen/keyboard/portable aspect)
Our good friends at Asrock as grace us with one of their new Nettop Ion 330. This model is one of two that ASrock produces. The Ion 330 is based on the Nvidia Ion chipset obviously. And the other S330 is based on the Intel 945C chipset. They are both centered center the Intel Atom 330 dual core processor. The feature set of both are pretty similar as they both supply HD 1080P playback through HDMI, slim-line DVD device and a 2.5" hard drive. But the most important features once again are the small size, money saving and light multitasking. So, read on to see if the Nettop Ion 330 is a considerable unit to be place in your entertainment center.
I'm sure there will be more Ion based products in the future; however considering the size of the processor we might not be able to find them with the naked eye.

CryoTech and New Cooling Technologies You've Never Seen @ FrostyTech
Published: Monday, August 17, 2009 | By: WillWe at Ninjalane love playing with different ways to cool our extremely hot systems. So now we have a new idea on how to go about cooling a system.
"Since today is bugger of a hot one, I thought it might be fun to depart from the usual pixel fodder and take a brief look at a few cool technologies you've (likely) never seen before, touch on some fun tests from Frostytech's unpublished archives, and collect all the thermodynamics research we've reported on recently into one location. This includes vapour chambers, thermoacoustic and phase change waterchilling, conduction cooled PCB and stirling Cycle Cryo Coolers among many others."
MuHaaaHaaa! Evil scientist laughter always makes my day.

AMD Previews DirectX 11 Gaming Performance on Evergreen @ Legit Reviews
Published: Monday, August 17, 2009 | By: WillThe clock is ticking for all kinds of great new stuff from all hardware directions. The graphic card market is starting to gear up for the DirectX 11 battle with AMD firing off about the new "Evergreen" graphic card.
"Taking a look at the back of the case we can see that the DX11 'Evergreen' graphics card is a dual slot solution. For hooking up monitors the card has a has a pair of dual DVI outputs and then both DisplayPort and HDMI connectors. There is also an exhaust port on the back for what could be an outside thermal exhaust system. This is one of the only pictures of this elusive video card on the web...."
I cannot wait for this fall!
