  • NL: PC Game Reviews Roundup

Here is some PC game reviews for everyone to enojy.

Call of Juarez Bound in Blood - PC Review @ Gamepyre

"Are you looking for a western game in particular? The odds are on the side of your liking this game if you are looking for that style. It has all the requirements for a good western: gold, betrayal, the girl, family, shootouts and the church. It has a decent western arsenal (if you play as Thomas you can even use the bow), and it has absolutely amazing looking western scenery and architecture. If you're not too crazy about the genre but are looking for a new shooter to test your multiplayer skills on, this is not the game for you (at least not now anyhow). Multiplayer has a lot of potential but right now is for the most part broken. Connecting and staying connected to an internet server is extremely hard."

    Fuel Game Review @ OCaholic

"By releasing 'Fuel' Codemasters extends its selection of Racing Games and tries to win the players over with new features and a high level of interacting freedom.
The guys from Southam already succeeded in creating an astonishing game with 'Race Driver Grid'. Whether they we're able to create a game of addictive quality again or not - you'll find out on the following pages."
  • India to Resist U.S. Pressure on Carbon Emission Caps

Published: Sunday, July 19, 2009 | By: Dennis

Ok I'm not going to say I know everything about the environment here but it would seem that India is more worried about making sure their 1.1 Billion people have something to do than smarten up, play ball and advance as a country.

Take a look at this quote:

"There is simply no case for the pressure that we, who have been among the lowest emissions per capita, face to actually reduce emissions," Jairam Ramesh said at a meeting today with Clinton in Gurgaon near New Delhi, according to a statement he issued to reporters. "And as if this pressure was not enough, we also face the threat of carbon tariffs on our exports to countries such as yours."

They key word here is "per capita"  at 1.1 Billion people they can pretty much get away with anything they want instead of getting smart and doing things the right way.

I say Tariff the crap out of them, and tax companies that employ their services when those services do not comply with emission standards.  Aside from getting money managers to understand technology this might be the only way to right the economic ship and find better ways to do things.

  • Microsoft: Apple wanted 'Laptop Hunters' ads pulled

Published: Thursday, July 16, 2009 | By: Will

Okay this is way to funny to pass up. I myself use both platforms for many years. I did love the "I'm a Mac" commercials beating up poor helpless Vista. Still these new ads from Microsoft are so true and fitting for what you get out of your hard earned dollars for a Mac.

"It should come as no surprise that Apple isn't a big fan of Microsoft's "Laptop Hunters" ads, but some may be surprised to learn the Mac maker's lawyers reportedly called a senior Microsoft executive and demanded the ads be removed."

Hey let's all have a Apple Lan Party.tongue smile Nevermind!

  • X58 Roundup - July 2009 @ Driverheaven

Published: Thursday, July 16, 2009 | By: Will

I always love a good round up of hardware. The X58 boards is a very good start of a round up, but I do wonder how far the results will really go with seeing most everything is very dependent on the processor now.

"First up on the review bench is the top model in the Asus P6T desktop family, the P6T Deluxe V2, it competes against two high performance boards from Foxconn, the FlamingBlade and BloodRage GTI.Read on to find out which best meets your requirements in regards to performance and functionality."

    Still a good read.happy smile

  • Enermax Revolution 85+ 1050W Power Supply Review @ Hardware Canucks

Published: Thursday, July 16, 2009 | By: Will

Here is a great PSU on any enthusiasts short list of wants. I love the looks and the 1050+ rating that can peak upto 1250watts if need be. I just cannot think of what you would need to be running to load that much wattage.

"Power supply reviews are back at HWC! We start things off with a bang by looking at one of Enermax's flagship units: the Revolution 85+ 1050W. The features this power supply comes with reads like a laundry list of exactly what enthusiasts are looking for in a high end unit and because of this our expectations are high. Can this near-$300 product make good on its claims?"

I want one it is on the top of my list. Well so is everything else for that fact. big grin smile

  • ASUS P7P55D motherboard preview: Intel Core i5 ready to go @ Hexus

Published: Tuesday, July 14, 2009 | By: Will

Come one, come all, to the next Intel chip to win them all. The Core i5 is going to be a very talked about processor soon. So what does the new P55 motherboards have to offer this new processor. Look here and see what Asus and the new P55 chipset are going to offer us.

"The chip giant could continue with the status quo, harvesting Core 2 Quad as the mid-range solution, left to compete against AMD's best, and Core i7 as high-end, but that would mean losing out on chipset revenue emanating from the introduction of new CPUs. Through a series of managed announcements, Intel has delineated plans for its CPU line-up into 2010, and it's no surprise that the underlying Nehalem architecture will be pared-down, just a touch, and bring with it a range of new Intel 5-series chipsets - P55, P57, H55, H57, Q57. etc."

Another new toy I cannot wait to play with.big grin smile

  • GEIL Ultra Series PC3-14400 6GB Memory Kit @ TweakTown

Published: Tuesday, July 14, 2009 | By: Will

Computex was great this year for Ninjalane, and it is even better when we start seeing products at the show popping up in reviews as well. Everyone check out some of the more plain, but still interesting Geil DDR3 RAM.

"PC3-14400 isn't a number we typically see. What we tend to find is most companies promote their higher end PC3-16000 kits or the more standard overclocked modules, the PC3-12800 ones. What PC3-14400 kits offer us over something like a PC3-12800 kit is a bit more performance and a small jump in price while not going to the extreme that PC3-16000 kits tend to carry.

Today we'll find out if it's worth spending an extra few dollars moving from PC3-12800 or if you're simply better off just splurging out big on a PC3-16000 kit which carries with it an extra 200MHz."

You should check out the pics we have some of Geils other stuff here. happy smile

  • ATI to finalize RV870 in August @ Fudzilla

Published: Tuesday, July 14, 2009 | By: Will

Ninjalane does like to stay a little bit out of the rumormill area of technology. Still in the forums not to long ago a thread started up about who was going to have the newest DirectX 11 part first. So we have something for everyone in there to see, and come on in and add your comment as well to this thread.

ATI should finalize the development of „RV870" 40nm DirectX 11 chip at some point in August. This is what our usually well informed sources have confirmed. We are talking about the cards and chips should already be taped out a while ago.

The real launch and mass production should happen in very late Q3, probably in late September, and real availability is expected in October.

From this point, it looks like that ATI might have a month or two head start, as Nvidia's „GT300" should show its face in very late Q4 2009. All in all, it will be very interesting Q4 but this also denotes that most of July and at least half of August will be rather graphically boring.

I cannot wait for the new cards to test out.cool smile
