TYAN Tomcat K8E (S2865) Review @ BFR
Published: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 | By: DennisBack in the day I would swear by Tyan for their quality, being that I still have 2 5+ year old systems up and running with Tyan mobos I don't think anyone will question my judgment. (however they can think I'm crazy all they want)
"This BIOS is an overclocker's dream. Pictured above are the many options available to the user giving them full control over voltage settings to the CPU, Chipset, and memory. It allows for the configuration of the CPU frequency and HyperTransport frequency and width. The bottom-most menu is obviously used to fine tune the memory timings giving access to the Tcl, Tras, Trcd, and Trp settings as well as the memory clock speed."
Maybe not the most informative review but they tend to cover the bases best they can. -
Thermaltake Tai-Chi Case Review @ AMD Review
Published: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 | By: DennisHere is actually an Aluminum case I might consider buying.
"The front of this case includes a 120mm Fan with lights, ensuring plenty of air flow. The front bay panels are made of the same thick aluminum like the rest of the case. There is a movable front panel contoller and a extra storage tray which are both great features."
I really like how the case doubles as a heatsink though without any direct connection between the heatsource and the case. -
ThermoChill announce the PA120 Series
Published: Tuesday, September 20, 2005 | By: DennisThe radiator designed by people for people. Can't wait to see the results.
"The PA120 radiator series features a dual-row dual-pass 120mm form factor, available in single, double and triple sizes, optimised for the fans of today and putting into practice everything learned about watercooling efficiency and performance over the past 3 years. The PA Series boasts from 10-40% better performance over the HE Series. 10% for the high / noisy airflow end of the fan market, and up to 40% for the low airflow / silence end of the market. " -

Chaintech Remains Motherboard Business
Published: Saturday, September 10, 2005 | By: DennisIt would seem that Digitimes was wrong based on this announcment posted on the Chaintech website.
"Chaintech denies it will fade away motherboard market to clarify the rumors wide spread recently. Most people recognize Chaintech brand as its contribution of motherboards and VGA cards. Chaintech shall not only phase-in new module business but also remain the motherboard and VGA card business unchanged."
I be all yay! now. -
Chaintech to exit motherboard business
Published: Thursday, September 8, 2005 | By: DennisI'm gonna have to confirm this one, sad times if its true.
"Second-tier motherboard maker Chaintech Computer plans to phase out its motherboard business and introduce a new memory module product line in October, as IC testing and packaging house Walton Advanced Engineering has become Chaintech’s largest shareholder with a 25% stake, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times report today.
Chaintech confirmed that the company is gearing up to launch memory module products and will gradually phase out its motherboard business. However, the launch date of the new product line has not been revised. Despite its plan to exit the motherboard market, Chaintech will carry on its graphics card business, which accounts for about 60% of its revenues at present, the paper indicated."
