Fight Club - The Return of Hobbes
Published: Friday, June 3, 2005 | By: DennisNot really hardware related but some interesting reading while you eat your lunch.
"In the film Fight Club, the real name of the protagonist (Ed Norton’s character) is never revealed. Many believe the reason behind this anonymity is to give "Jack" more of an everyman quality. Do not be deceived. "Jack" is really Calvin from the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. It’s true. Norton portrays the grown-up version of Calvin, while Brad Pitt plays his imaginary pal, Hobbes, reincarnated as Tyler Durden." -

phj34r My Lak of Newz
Published: Monday, May 30, 2005 | By: DennisHey everyone, sorry for the lack of news postings it would seem that my quest for funding and lack of motivation has taken its toll on the news posting frequency. To help illustrate the situation there is about 169 news related emails in my inbox and while I'm sure the webmasters would love for me to post them all it is not going to happen. However I think at least a few will get posted before the evening is thru.
Computex starts tonight and as you also might have guessed I am not in Taipei to cover the event. I feel really bad about it but it would seem that building/closing on a house is a little more expensive than you might imagine. Combine that with getting laid off and your savings account tends to drop very quickly. I am certain that things will turn around in time for CES and of course Computex 2006.
I know of a few editors that will be covering Computex this year so it will be interesting to see what they uncover. The highlight thus far will be in the video card sector, new nVidia GPU along with the ATI Crossfire should make for a few exciting displays. -
Abit AX8 @ InsaneTek
Published: Friday, May 20, 2005 | By: DennisIn the midst of this Abit Fatal1ty board talk we are soon to forget that Abit does sell their own line of products and are no better or worse than the Fatal1ty option. (cept for the orange PCB, that kind of sux)
"Ever since Nvidia came into the motherboard chipset feud, VIA's popularity as the choice for motherboard chipset started to fade. They used to be the king with their KT133 and KT266 series. There are still many enthusiasts out there who are loyal fans. They strongly believe that VIA provides the best chipset and the best drivers. Personally, I go with the best performer. "
Wanna know what is funny? On the A64 platform performance is so close between the two chipsets it is really a wash as to what one to pick. -
Sheldog23 Sapphire Liquid Metal custom PC @ CaseModGod
Published: Friday, May 20, 2005 | By: DennisCool casemods for cool companies, can’t get much better than that.
"Even I thought the initial design was pretty boring. Then Sapphire revealed to me the name of the new hardware.
I cannot let you know this until the unveiling at E3 but it has to do with cold so...
We frost."
It actually turned out to be pretty sweet. -

phj34r my l4k of n3wz
Published: Wednesday, May 18, 2005 | By: DennisSorry for the lack of news postings but this week started off busy and keep getting worse, and to top things off I started a new daytime engagement that really limits my free time.
So basically that means I'll be back to nighttime news posts from now on.
There are a couple of new reviews in the pipeline that will be posted this month and after that we'll be taking a short break so I can work on another Ninjalane project that I'm just itching to get launched.
Stay tuned for more details and don't worry we're not going anywhere.
