  • Logisys SP6002CL Clear Speakers @ Hardware WarCry

Published: Monday, November 8, 2004 | By: Dennis

"Are your current 2.1 speakers just not living up to the expectations you have? Well, Logisys has delivered us a great 2.1 speaker set, that promises to deliver great sound, as well as looks great! The looks are certainly unique, but this is definitely a unique set of 2.1 speakers. Read on to see all the details!"
This might be the shortest review I've seen since A1-Electronics, and about as useful.

Cool speakers though, you normally see them with the Apple displays at the local CompUSA.

  • asetek Hard Drive Water Cooler @ Viper Lair

Now here is an approved asetek review if I ever saw one. tongue smile
"Another problem which is becoming more of a concern these days is the issue of noise. Even silent fans generate some noise, and coupled with the various fans in your case and on your heatsinks, your computer can be the cause of many headaches if the noise levels are left unchecked."
I've been using HDD coolers for years now and can swear by their performance though I've discovered that in most cases the GPU fan or HDD itself makes more noise than a dual fan under drive HDD cooler.

  • Gigabyte nForce4 Photo @ t-break

Published: Monday, November 8, 2004 | By: Dennis

Looking at this board you can see some classic Gigabyte "I ride around in a custom limo" style. Across the top you see the extra power module connector, blue PCB, and multicolored expansion slots.

After closer inspection you can also see that the 16x PCIe slot is right in line with the MCP heatsink! Not exactly the best place for it IMO.

  • ThermalRight XP-120 for the LGA 775 @ Hi-Techreviews

This is one big ass cooler reviewed by an over-critical editor tongue smile
"The base arrived with one small mark which is visible in the photo, this mark could not be felt with your thumbnail it was more a case of blemish in the finish that the camera made look worse. Checking the overall flatness of the base with a high quality machinist rule and a flashlight showed the XP-120 to be perfectly flat."
All things aside I think the heatpipe solution is pretty cool.

  • Ninjalane WAN Party - Game Chosen (UT2004)

Published: Friday, November 5, 2004 | By: Dennis

I would like to thank everyone that voted in the WAN party poll. So far the leader is UT2004 and that's what we are going to roll with. The game will be Onslaught.

The rules for this WAN party will be a little different than before since I'd like to make it more of a Ninjalane event than just running a game server over the weekend.

Visit the following Ninjaforum thread for details on the WAN Party and for instructions on how to sign up.

  • DFI LanParty UT nF3 250Gb @ PC Modding Malaysia

Published: Friday, November 5, 2004 | By: Dennis

We were hoping to get the 939 version of this board into the Ninjalane Labs but both versions are rather difficult to find. This review contains some pretty good information but nothing really quotable so you'll just have to check it out on your own.

  • Soltek SL-K8TPro-939 Review @ 3DXtreme

Published: Friday, November 5, 2004 | By: Dennis

I was pretty excited to see this board come into the Ninjalane Labs and while I haven't done enough testing to confirm or deny any of the contents of this review I'm pretty sure they covered some of the basics.
"While we did hit a cap with front side bus limitation of 250 MHz. We also managed the highest overall CPU clock speed with this Motherboard. Overclocking on the AMD64 platform can be tricky. Keeping the Hyper-Transport less than 1000 MHz on the K8TPro is critical, also the memory ratio used can play a big part in overclocking success."

  • MSI K8N Neo & Neo2 Platinum @ The Crucible

Published: Friday, November 5, 2004 | By: Dennis

"We are going to take a look at two of the latest motherboards from Micro-Star International, better know to most of us as MSI. We chose to look at both the socket 754 and 939 platforms to give a comparison of the performance as well as the price."
This is a rather wordy review but does have some good information about how the two boards stack up. If you like to see pictures while reading this review, flip on the telli.

  • Ultra Dual Channel PC3200 Memory Review @ BigBruin

Published: Friday, November 5, 2004 | By: Dennis

"Ultra Products packages their ram in two different style of packages. A blister pack, and a mahogany wood box for their top of the line RAM.

The wood box is a welcome change from the usual blister pack, or white box that most RAM comes in. Does it really provide anything for the quality of the RAM? No. But it's some great packaging, along with a good place to store any extra RAM you might have laying around."

Whoa!, a wood box to store your memory in, I gotta get me some of that. tongue smile

  • NL: Review Block - 915 Boards

Published: Friday, November 5, 2004 | By: Dennis

The Intel 915x chipset is very versatile offering for the mainstream PC market.

    - Chaintech Zenith VE 915P @ OverClocker Cafe
    - MSI 915P Neo2 Platinum @ PCStats

Sadly there still isn't much word on the i925 chipset though from what I've been told it is very similar to the 915 both in performance and expandability.
