A Long Weekend:
Published: Monday, October 25, 2004 | By: DennisSorry for the lack of news postings but its been a very long and busy weekend. Things started on Friday when the first box of parts showed for a new project that I've been working on. I can't give out any details yet but I can tell you that the project is related to watercooling and should take the industry by storm.
Friday night was filled with picking up after the framers. For those of you that don't know I'm in the process of building a house and to save a couple bux I get to go out and pick up the site after the crew is done. Its kind of a crappy job but a clean construction site not only saves me money but makes things look nice.
Saturday and Sunday were spent working on my house, We are doing the electrcial ourselves so all of the rooms need to have boxes and wires installed. Sadly getting things installed properly is a very time consuming process that took the entire weekend. From the outside there isn't much happening but the interior will be buzzing with peeps all week.
Then of course after 8 hours of labor the beer drinking started and all else was forgotton.

SilverStone TJ04 Review @ OCModShop
Published: Thursday, October 21, 2004 | By: DennisWe should be getting one of these cases in the Ninjalane Labs here pretty soon.
"The front of the case is protected by a piece of plastic to prevent scratches or damage to it. Once the plastic is removed the black brushed aluminum is exposed and looks very professional. Thankfully the adhesive used to keep the plastic in place did not leave any stickiness on the bezel. The buttons and LED are laid out very nicely and are very aesthetically pleasing while the corners curve to assist in overall appearance."

MSI nForce4 PCI-E/SLI boards @ t-break
Published: Thursday, October 21, 2004 | By: DennisSuper spy photos are always fun to look at especially when it involves new and improved hardware.
"MSI, one of the leading computer motherboard manufacturers and the well-known AMD platform solution provider, today announced the debut of nForce4 chipset family motherboards. The MSI K8N Diamond and K8N Neo4 Platinum motherboards offer cinematic processing with powerful PCI Express x16 graphics interface and Nvidia’s exclusive SLI technology."
Ok, I suppose these aren't really spy photos but they are still neat to see. -
Corsair Twin2X DDR2 5400C4 ProSeries Review Posted
Published: Thursday, October 21, 2004 | By: DennisSystem memory can only be as fast as the slowest link so it is important to install matched memory modules whenever possible for the best performance. The Corsair Twin2X series makes this possible since ever memory pair is assembled, tested, and programmed together to ensure the highest level of compatibility and speed.

No price cuts for Intel LGA 775
Published: Tuesday, October 19, 2004 | By: DennisWhen the industry is slow to adapt to new technology, what is the best way to force the issue??? Yep, reduce supply.
"According to the sources, Intel was also reducing its supply of Socket 478 Pentium 4 and 865 chipsets, in order to push migration to the LGA 775 platform." -

nForce4 Press Day
Published: Tuesday, October 19, 2004 | By: DennisnVidia released info on their next chipset for the Athlon64 dubbed the nForce4. From what I've read the nForce4 isn't much more than a upgraded nForce3. The major upgrade points are with the addition of PCI Express and nVidia SLI. Chances are we won't be seeing any boards based on the nForce4 anytime this year and with how PCI Express video card production is going I wouldn't expect to see to many SLI enabled boards until sometime after retail boards hit the shelves.
- nForce4 @ neoseeker
- nForce4 @ ViperLair
- nForce4 @ Hot Hardware
- nForce4 @ HardOCP
Aside from this news posting there isn't any nForce4 action at Ninjalane though when retail samples come out I'd expect a fair share of them. -

Here is a check list of the contents. If any of these items are missing or damaged, please contact your dealer or sales representative for assistance."
The above message brought you by the foundation for end-users to never contact a review site webmaster for tech support.
I'm all LOL over that one. -
Dual Core CPU's Part Deux @ DataFuse
Published: Monday, October 18, 2004 | By: Dennis"Now, if you read the previous article you'll probably spot the confusion with the now twin L2 core. In the previous article I stated Intel will use the CMP (Chip Multi Processing) architecture. This is when they place two cores together and have them sharing the Caches. Intel won't use this solution since it will be too expensive to manufacture as a desktop solution chip."
Some good stuff in this article provided you are interested.
