Turbocase X-Sonic Review @ TweakNews
Published: Monday, April 28, 2003 | By: DennisWhat is this? a Chenming case built out of cheap metal?? Thats it I'm selling my stock.
"Finally, the standard bland beige steel case has been pretty well been driven into extinction. Even the profit hungry OEM computer manufacturers know that even the most basic computer consumer wants more than a cheap $20 case enclosing their investment. Today I will be reviewing a cost effective, attractive, aluminum case that would be a great upgrade for even the newest computer enthusiest." -
Vantec Aeroflow Heatsink Review @ TechLounge
Published: Monday, April 28, 2003 | By: Dennis" A problem with most heat sink/ fans is that the fan blows air into the heat sink fins, but it has nowhere to go once it hits the bottom of the heat sink. The air scatters and creates turbulence while trying to escape through the sides."
This isn't always a bad thing, check out the YS Tech fan on this puppy.

Finally! Back Online
Published: Sunday, April 27, 2003 | By: DennisWell after many many hours of downtime and a mounting 1-800 bill Ninjalane.com is back online. It would appear that some disk corruption caused a little more havoc to the site than any of us would have suspected.
Well now its time time to play the good webmaster and check everything out. Please do the same if you have a spare moment, and if you notice anything strange plez let me know. -
Marauder SystemDotNet Carputer Project @ RojakPot
Published: Friday, April 25, 2003 | By: Dennis"I checked the inverter's manual and it mentioned that the inverter should be directly connected to the battery in order for it to power devices with a power rating of 200W and above. I did so and it still cannot keep the system up for more than two minutes! I can only summarize that I need a bigger battery...
Check back for more updates while I try to hook a second battery to my car!"
I have quite a lot of experience putting rather large stereos into cars. The amps used would draw a considerable amount of power, required 4+-gauge wire to run and generated a ton of heat. The first things installed just to handle the increased power draw would be a deep cycle battery, followed by a high output alternator. Considering the power draw I’m thinking that he is going to need more than just a bigger battery to make this thing work.
I have yet to tackle the whole computer in a car thing but the way I see it the better solution would be to get a 12v power supply and mod it into the tiny shuttle case. You won't need an inverter and won't need an extra battery. -
Cooler Master CoolDrive 3 Review @ a True Review
Published: Friday, April 25, 2003 | By: DennisAnother true review from a True Review.com
"Cooler Master sent us there newest hard drive cooler on the market, the CoolDrive 3. The CoolDrive 3 boasts itself as a quiet hard drive cooler that looks cool. Looks are getting very important to the computer buyer, but performance is still where the money is at. This review will examine both performance and looks of the Cooler Master Cool Drive 3."
I didn't know it only had one fan, how strange. -
Hitachi CML175B Monitor Review @ accelenation
Published: Friday, April 25, 2003 | By: DennisI don't normally post monitor reviews but I'll make an exception in this case since I have a TV made by them.
"Hitachi has been making displays for years. My first experience with Hitachi was with my own 19” Hitachi CM751, a 19” CRT with a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 and a .22mm dot pitch. It still has one of the clearest and sharpest pictures that I have encountered on a CRT." -
Chenming X-Pider Case Review @ MonkeyReview
Published: Friday, April 25, 2003 | By: Dennis"We removed the bezel to check things out and found that there were no fan filters present; this was a little discouraging as my previous Antec came with one, to be fair they’re easily made but it would have been nice to see it included."
Well its not your momma's Antec :)
As a casemodder I can honestly say that fan filters do not stop dirt from entering your case, instead they just get clogged up and restrict airflow negating its main purpose in life. -
MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R Review @ HardwareZone
Published: Friday, April 25, 2003 | By: Dennis"The 875P Neo-FIS2R is probably an overclocker's dream come true. From the options available in the BIOS, one can tell that this board is truly designed for the overclocker in mind. We have to say that this is MSI's boldest step yet in motherboard design and it's probably a precursor of more great things from MSI."
This is a Canterwood Pentium 4 mobo from MSI that appears to have a very wide range of overclocking controls. -
