ABIT NF7-S nForce2 Motherboard @ Hexus
Published: Monday, December 2, 2002 | By: DennisThere was a lot of hype around the original nForce chipset release and after it was all said and done the release barely made a wave. Now with the pending release of the newly upgraded nForce2 (creative name huh?) I think we might have something to look forward to.
"Why have I chosen dual-channel DDR266 over dual-channel DDR333 at 133FSB ?. The answer lies in the fact that we actually lose performance by running dual-channel DDR333 at 133FSB. The asynchronous memory speed provides more bandwidth than dual-channel DDR266, but latency is increased by having to account for the asynchronous memory and CPU FSB clocks. "
I wonder if the Intel solutions will have similar problems. -

Macs, Adobe, and IE - Who Owns the Bug??
Published: Wednesday, November 27, 2002 | By: DennisOur resident Mac expert Talon sent this in and it looks to be a pretty serious yet totally funny little bug. Here is what you need to do.
Go to the site listed below using your favorite IE browser (on the windows platform). You will notice that the page doesn't completely load and a few of the images are gone.
Next using the same browser go to any other site on the net, you will notice that no images are being loaded.
The problem resides around IE freaking out about XML data that is inserted into the .jpg file when it is saved from certain Adobe products on the OSX platform. It is only temporary, just close and restart your browser.
Mozilla based browsers are unaffected.

CoolerMaster HSC-V62 Copper Heatsink Review @ RadiativeNZ
Published: Wednesday, November 27, 2002 | By: DennisThe HSC-V62 looks to be your typical thin-fin copper heatsink with the addition of a thermally controlled variable speed fan. In the past I've disliked this approach since the thermal control was more dependant on case temperature than CPU temperature. Coolermaster took this into account and actually placed the sensor under the fan instead.
