Would you like smut with that?
Published: Monday, October 14, 2002 | By: DennisThis is too funny,
"The branch in Kilmarnock was offering customers 15 minutes of free internet access with every £1.99 breakfast they bought, while others were charged 50p for 15 minutes.
However, some fast food lovers were spicing up their meals with a little bit of hardcore pornography."
If you can't get into the silicon site Ananova is covering the story as well. -

AMD 2400 & 2700+ Processor Review @ got|apex
Published: Thursday, October 10, 2002 | By: Dennis"The AthlonXP 2700+ managed to squeeze out an extra 20MHz above the standard 100MHz which has become the AMD expected overclock, and was perfectly stable at a lofty front-side bus of 176MHz or 352MHz DDR!!! No voltage tweaking was necessary with the 2700+ to get her to settle down at 2,288MHz. Take a moment here and just soak in the fact that we now have an AthlonXP running on a FSB of 176 / 352MHz !!!!! That is truly amazing.... "
Despite the overclock they didn't seem to really be too impressed with the new 333FSB, I really wanted to see some real DDR333/400 memory scores. -

Albatron PX845E @ SubZeroTech
Published: Tuesday, October 8, 2002 | By: DennisIt would appear that Silver is the hot color for PCB's lately and the Albatron PX845E is no exception. I would quote a little about the review but I can't get their site to do anything in Netscape 7.0, I got images blinking all over the place and even sometimes disappear on mouseover. I couldn’t located a problem in their code so I'm guessing they have some sick twisted love for IE.

DDR333 Chipsets from Intel
Published: Monday, October 7, 2002 | By: DennisThe big news so far is a a few new chipset releases from Intel featuring official DDR333 memory support, Hyper-Threading, and PC1066 RDRAM. We all know that Rambus is on its way out in Intel's eyes and Hyper-Threading won't become a reality until the 3.0GHz processors are released later this year leaving the yummy stuff to be DDR333.
"Intel has released quite a few 845 chipsets in 2002. In fact, after today's official announcement, Intel will have released seven different 845 chipsets this year alone, not including the first 845 chipset that was introduced late last year (PC133-only). These chipsets include the 845D, 845E, 845G and 845GL not to mention today's announcements of the 845PE, 845GE and 845GV. "
Given the virtual alphabet soup of i845 chipsets out there I can imagine this announcement doesn't make many motherboard makers happy. Just imagine the unique inventory problems this could create.
On a side note Soltek released a bios update for the SL-85DR-C allowing you to overclock the i845D chipset to run 533MHz P4's.
