  • Tyan Thunder i7500 Review @ GamePC

Published: Thursday, April 18, 2002 | By: Dennis

Dual Xeon goodness, and the fun doesn't stop there, this board is actually a Quad processor once you consider HyperThreading. Some of the other features include support for up to 12gigs of DDR200 memory, and PCI-X slots (2x 133MHz, 2x 66MHz). Pretty much everything needed for any high-end server.

  • NEC unveils DDR-II

Published: Tuesday, April 16, 2002 | By: Dennis

Not much to be said about this, though it is pretty cool.
"The first configurations are 18-megabit at 33-MHz. A 36-Mbit version is planned for an unspecified debut in the future.

Samples of both type SRAMs are available at $80 each. Production quantities and pricing are scheduled for Q3 '02."

I’ve been toying around with the idea of starting a case mod gallery and I still might do it considering the popularity of the new hobby. In the meantime here are a couple to look over.

  • Antec Mod Painting This Weekend

Published: Saturday, April 13, 2002 | By: Dennis

Well the Antec Mod project is about halfway there with the ritual painting of the case marking a major milestone for this weekend. Normally I wouldn't say anything but this time we're not using the tried and true "bomb can" tekniq. big grin smile I'll have more on that subject later.

  • GeForce4 Ti4400 4-Way @ GamePC

Published: Saturday, April 13, 2002 | By: Dennis

Sounds kinky but really its just 4 cards and some benchmarks. I am actually quite surprised as to how bad the Gainward card does when compared to the other cards in the test.

  • Licensing Dispute Over 533MHz FSB?

Published: Thursday, April 11, 2002 | By: Dennis

I pose this as a question because we have already seen a few instances of regular Pentium 4 chips running overclocked at 533MHz FSB, so what is to stop SiS, VIA, and others from licensing the 400MHz FSB from Intel, then giving consumers the ability to run 533MHz FSB chips on those chipsets in using an "overclocked" FSB setting??.

  • JEDEC-standard DDR333 Memory From Micron

Published: Thursday, April 11, 2002 | By: Dennis

Hometown hero Micron appears to be the first to supply JEDEC-compliant DDR333 memory. I think we can expect silent compliancy upgrades from other DDR333 memory manufactures in the coming weeks.
