After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Case layout & Features

The front I/O panel features a sliding door to cover up the Power/Reset/Fan LED switches from curious fingers.  Below this you'll find 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x eSATA, 1 x Firewire, 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x Mic, and 1 x Audio Output. If your systems doesn't support the new USB 3.0 standard the ports can be swapped out for regular USB 2.0 connectors.
A striking new feature of the HAF X is the two very large mesh ventilation holes located at the top of the case.
There are three holes located at the top of the HAF X for running an external watercooler or even USB 3.0 cables as shown in the picture.
HAF X only allows for one Power Supply to be mounted in it unlike the HAF 932. The PSU is mounted at the bottom of the case with plenty of room on each side.
Sometimes power supply placement can be troublesome especially if your PSU is longer than normal.  Mounting even the longest of these shouldn't be a problem and to keep vibration noise to a minimum you'll find a rubber mounting pads at the bottom of the case.
A new addition to the case is the ability to section off certain areas for controlled cooling using a plastic shroud.  An added benefit is that it can also cover excess wires and make the mess simply disappear from view.
