    Introduction

    Memory modules haven't really changed much over the years; in its simplest form they are nothing more than memory chips attached to special PCBs that can later be used on your favorite motherboard. Aside from the addition of fancy heatspreaders they are fairly boring to look at. Well the image of memory is about to change in a big way with the introduction of the XMS ProSeries from Corsair.
    Many of you may have already seen reviews of this XMS ProSeries so the name may not be all that new. Though to help keep things fresh the ProSeries modules are available in 3 speed grades, 2 package configurations, with a single module size for a total of 6 different ways to buy them. They are outlined below.
    TwinX (matched memory pairs)
    XMS4000 (DDR500) 3-4-4-8
    XMS3200LL (DDR400, low latency) 2-3-2-6
    XMS3200C2 (DDR400) 2-3-3-6

    CMX (Single modules)

    The Corsair ProSeries modules still feature hand picked memory chips to ensure consistency and are available in TwinX matched memory pairs for dual channel systems. The heatspreader is taller to allow room for the specially designed PCB and 18 activity LEDs located across the top. These LEDs light up based on memory activity and should appeal to hardware enthusiasts and casemodders alike.
