After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain.  I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain.  If you are reading this you have reached one of the archived articles, news, projects and/or reviews that were left behind during the site migration.

Please update your bookmarks and be sure to visit the new and improved Ninjalane at Hardwareasylum.com

    Power connections

As we was mentioned before the Toughpower XT is almost completely modular with the only hardwired connections being the 24pin ATX cable and dual 8pin and 4+4pin 12v CPU power connectors.

The 24pin connector does not come with a 4pin break away section however since most modern motherboards come with 24pin sockets having the breakaway seems a little unnecessary.
Modular plugs are rather limited and extend to include the following.
2x sets of SATA power connectors supporting up to 4 devices per tail.
2x sets of Molex power plugs supporting up to 3 standard devices per tail and a single floppy drive connection.
4x sets of PCI Express power connections that feature a single connection per tail.  2 cables feature a 6+2pin connection while the other 2 feature a 6pin connection only.
With only 4 PCI Express power connections it is safe to say the Toughpower XT 775W can support dual card SLI/Crossfire systems but can support many of the overclocking motherboards we have seen using the dual 12v power sockets
