  • Albatron FX5700P Turbo Review @ Viperlair

Published: Friday, May 28, 2004 | By: Dennis

Another Albatron FX5700P review this time from the people at Viperlair. It seems that this card delivers the needed performance in today's game with a price of around hundred bux. Seems like a good deal to me.
"This card is what we would classify as an entry model (and given NVIDIA's current product structure, this seems to be their idea also), and compared to both last year's entry and mid-range offerings, the FX5200 and FX5600 respectively, the Albatron FX5700P Turbo will run circles around them."

  • MSI K8N Neo Platinum Edition nF3 250Gb Review @ Hexus

Published: Friday, May 28, 2004 | By: Dennis

Seems like nForce3 boards are slowly squeezing into today's market with more manufacturers releasing their own versions. I think I liked their red PCB motherboards better though sad smile.
"We just need a revised BIOS that allows the enthusiast really push the board to the limit. The AGP/PCI lock is in place but it's of questionable value when multiplier support is broken. As it stands, it's a damn fast board at or near-default speeds."

  • Powercolor X800 Pro Review @ HardwareHell

Published: Thursday, May 27, 2004 | By: Dennis

HardwareHell reviews the new Powercolor video card, with it's latest and greatest chipset from ATI. One of the more interesting sections of this review, is how this video card overclocks when watercooled. Read up.
"A new generation of video cards is upon us and it’s as exciting as ever. Both Nvidia and ATI are releasing a slew of new products aimed at improving our gaming experience. The first card we are looking at is the Powercolor X800 Pro - for the gamer who wants top performance but without creating a very large hole in his wallet (look to the XT model for that)."

  • Albatron GeForceFX 5700P Turbo Videocard Review @ PCStats

Published: Thursday, May 27, 2004 | By: Dennis

Albatron is famous for their impressive cooling systems on their highly overclockable video cards. Sure, the FX6800 Ultra is already out, but if you don't have the extra $500 lying around, you might want to take a look at this card.
"In this review, PCStats is taking the Albatron GeForceFX 5700P Turbo videocard for a spin around the block. We'll be looking to see if this blue 8X AGP card lives up to expectations. Will the FX5700P Turbo blast out pixels and jaw-droping FPS, or just putter along like an old Amiga? Feel free to jump ahead to the benchmarks, or sit back and relax as we take you though the features of this $150USD FX5700-based card."

  • Abit KV8-MAX3 K8T800 Athlon64 Motherboard Review @ Tweaknews

Published: Thursday, May 27, 2004 | By: Dennis

Abit IC7-MAX3 was one hell of a motherboard for the P4 systems with it's huge overclocking potential and inovative mosfet cooling system. Interested if KV8-MAX3 can match up to it? Check out this review.
"The ABIT KV8-MAX3 is indeed a hell of a board, and it did perform very well during testing. The OTES system has proven itself to be a very good cooling solution for overclockers, and the µGuru provides a user-friendly interface to monitor and administer your system. From the 6 SATA ports to the 4x RAID support, this board is built to grow with your 64bit system."

  • Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Ultra-64 Review @ Hardwarezoom

Published: Thursday, May 27, 2004 | By: Dennis

"GA-8KNXP Ultra-64 is designed to be the full function server-oriented solution with 800MHz FSB, AGP 8x, Dual Channel DDR 400 (with ECC support), and Performance Acceleration Technology (PAT) which will provides excellent performance."
Sadly the Ultra-64 isn't related to 64bit cpus. Based on what this board comes with it is indeed geared towards the server environment but I suppose if you feel like playing games on it there is nothing stopping you, cept maybe that single stick of Value RAM. tongue smile

  • No Gainward 6800 retail until after Computex?

Published: Tuesday, May 25, 2004 | By: Dennis

"With rumours abound of a new NVIDIA product announcement at Computex and whispers of a faster basic clock speed for all 6800 Ultra boards being the reason for its late entry at retail, it's no surprise to hear from Gainward that they won't ship any boards to retail until after Computex."
Hexus appears to be starting a little rumor mill of their own. Though it would seem that there is some basic truth to the whole story. I mean, you can't actually buy a 6800 yet so something has to be up. tongue smile

  • XFX FX 5700 Ultra Video Card Review Posted

The XFX FX 5700 Ultra is truly a gamer card, built by gamers for gamers but I wouldn't limit its usage to just games, the dual DVI connections are perfect for any digital workstation.
