Wahoo Chilli Pro Case Review @ Modsynergy
Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: Dennis"The Chilli Pro case offered through Wahoo Computers is not a case that I’d like to have. I’m not speaking for all of you but I think you don’t either. Even if your motherboard fits, you will literally have different problems to deal with.
Even the small things aren’t right such as the sliding rubber feet and the plastic base. This whole case is a disaster. Stay away. Literally."
This isn't the first time that we have seen a case similar to this and as their photo essay unfolds it becomes clear that the case designers didn't think things out to well. -
Long Weekend
Published: Monday, November 3, 2003 | By: DennisMan what a long weekend, but it was fairly productive and fun at the same time. Of the things accomplished we have the new Ninjalane Forum at Ninjaforum.com. It is online and appears to be working like a champ. I also did some work on the new Ninjalane forum theme; it’s about 75% done.
Ninjalane.com will be moving to the new server later this week. The site should be quite a bit faster and with any luck that will be the only 'issue' -
All New Ninjalane Message Forum!!
Published: Friday, October 31, 2003 | By: DennisI would like to announce the official opening of the new and improved Ninjalane Message Forum!. The new forum is using the ever-popular phpbb forum distribution that will eventually feature a new custom skin and color combo.
The one thing this new forum will not feature is the current Ninjalane user base and forum messages, I just couldn’t get them imported. So, in an attempt to spark some interest and get everyone migrated over I will be giving every one of the previous forum members that sign up a custom title. (of your choice) I am also planning to hold a giveaway or two for all that register and post. Not sure what I will give away but I will think of something.
Also for the first time in Ninjalane Message Forum history it will feature its very own domain name! The DNS entries are still populating across the Internet but the domains will be:
- http://www.ninjaforum.com <- will be the default and should be working
- http://www.ninjaforums.com (with an 's')
- http://forum.ninjalane.com <- won't work until the main site has been moved.
As you might have guessed Ninjalane.com is going to have a new home very shortly which promises to have faster load times and better reliability. That is of course if everything goes as planned. So, please bear with us and if you happen across an error feel free to drop me an email.
In the meantime, happy posting!! -
EZ Watcher 3060 Review @ Legit Reviews
Published: Friday, October 31, 2003 | By: Dennis"With an exclusive CPU speed monitor and CPU Tuner, it allows even the beginner to take full control of their system. You don't need to be an enthusiast, or read the user's manual -- just rotate the overclocking knob and you are done. This makes me cringe as I know how some people overclock without knowing what they are doing, but I can see how this simple overclocking method can appeal to non-enthusiast crowds."
This kind of sounds exactly like what Abit is doing with their DigiDice system, simply turn the knob and overclock. -
Asetek WaterChill Review @ MonkeyReview
Published: Friday, October 31, 2003 | By: Dennis"The Asetek WaterChill line has been around for awhile now and today’s kit, the New Generation Waterchill, is a revision of an already tried and proven combination. The particular kit that came to us from Asetek included the equipment and blocks to cool our CPU, Chipset, and VGA."
Ninjalane will be posting their review of this new Asetek WaterChill Kit very shortly. I have used this kit and can honestly say that the system is very easy to put together and installation is a snap. That is unless you are dealing with an Intel Northbridge. Check out our sponsors to get a WaterChill of your very own. -
Abit IC7-G Review @ ExtremeMHz
Published: Friday, October 31, 2003 | By: DennisAbit makes some really good mobos and have been pretty successful in both the mainstream and enthusiast markets. Older boards like the IC7 and IS7 have been overcast in recent months by newer offerings like the MAX3 but still prove to be a good buy for anyone.
"The Abit IC7-G is a highly attractive motherboard. Its aesthetically pleasing black/dark brown PCB combined with a rather unique chipset cooler add to its overall great looks. With the exception of the IDE connectors, the board has a rather pleasant layout." -
Chaintech FX-71 Geforce FX5600 Ultra Review @ Tweaknews
Published: Friday, October 31, 2003 | By: Dennis"Today I will be reviewing a videocard that is powered by the mainstream targeted FX5600, but with a kicker. The FX-71 although shares a chip that is mainstream oriented, it encompasses many features only found in the higher end enthusisiest card without the premium price. What features are they you ask? In a few pages you will find out."
With lights even. -
Diamond Multimedia Returns
Published: Friday, October 31, 2003 | By: DennisThis is old news but still newsworthy.
"Diamond Multimedia, a pioneer in the graphics industry, today announced its return to the consumer graphics market with plans to launch next-generation graphics cards under its legendary Stealth and Viper brands."
My first TNT2 Ultra card was by Diamond and is still in working condition. -

Taiwan vendors gain ground in P4 chipset market
Published: Wednesday, October 29, 2003 | By: Dennis"Unfazed by Intel’s dominance of the market, several local chipset vendors said that they have received orders from major motherboard companies for their 800MHz FSB (front-side bus) chipsets supporting the Pentium 4 platform.
Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) yesterday said that its 648FX chip, supporting single-channel DDR memory, has been selected by Fujitsu-Siemens, Legend, NEC Computer International (NEC CI) and Samsung Electronics. The chip vendor is positive that these deals will help boost future orders of its 655FX chip, which supports dual-channel memory."
