Finally Back Online!!
Published: Wednesday, June 11, 2003 | By: DennisSorry for the extended downtime, my webhost decided to scrap the old POS server that was hosting ninjalane.com and in the process of moving the site over they failed to make sure that .net and my database dll files were installed properly. Basically they screwed the site up pretty bad.
Everything appears to be working again. For now. -
Spidey Custom Chassis Review @ TwistedMods
Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: Dennis"The case itself is very solid and comes in a silver color, not unlike the color of the silver Windows XP Theme I'm sure we've all seen. The coloring on the case isn't brushed or anything, it has a nice satin look to it and it picks up light really well."
Modded case market is getting larger every year but I still think nothing can beat a self-modded and, most of all, unique case. -
13 Power Supplies In The Spotlight @ Tomshardware
Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: Dennis"A reliable, potent power supply is required to prevent instability and system crashes. THG took a close look at 13 power supplies rated higher than 400 Watts. The test showed that lines supplying the system with +3.3, +5 and +12 Volt lines generated, on average, 20 Watts less overall power than was promised by the product name or product branding."
It's amazing how important power supplies became in the world of PC enthusiasts over the last few years. -
Samsung LTM295W 29" LCD @ Monkeyreview
Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: Dennis"At the end of this review, I am pleased to say that every aspect aside from perhaps the cost pleased me. The Samsung LTM295W is a prime example of what home entertainment is all about."
Since Ninjalane specializes in rare, expensive and/or high performance items, I think this Samsung monitor would fit nicely in. Especially, on my table... -
Prolink GeForceFX 5600 256MB Golden Limited Review @ Tweaktown
Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: DennisProlink decided to pair nVidia's fairly slow chipset with 256mb one of the fastest Samsung's memory chips.
"And this would be Samsung 3.3ns memory modules, and lots of it. How much? How about 256MB! I still see users who don’t have this much memory in their systems, let alone their video cards."
That only leaves me with one question...Why? -
Hercules 3D Prophet Radeon 9800 Pro Review @ Tweaktown
Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: Dennis"Overall the Hercules Radeon 9800 Pro is very nice looking but is held back by the extra $69 US you will pay for a few heatsinks which results in a higher overclock, unfortunately it is very minimal and something the user can perform on other video cards with the simple purchase of Tiny BGA heatsinks., a blue LED and colored PCB from a video card which will set you back around $660 US."
I honestly think that times when people used to spend that kind of money on video cards, are gone... but that's just my opinion. -
AMD Processor breakdown @ CyberCPU.net
Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: Dennis"I always have people asking me what the actual MHz are on a particular Athlon XP processor so I decided to put together a chart that goes over some of the basic specs of the Athlon XP
processors."
Sometimes I believe it would be just easier if AMD would go back to the original Mhz/Ghz markings... -
Vantec Spectrum UV LED Fans @ The Tech Lounge
Published: Saturday, June 7, 2003 | By: Dennis"I mentioned in the other review that the UV fans "kick ass." Now, just think of something "kick ass" that lights up by itself, and you should have a good idea of what these fans are like."
These LED fans are getting to be pretty popular and just to think not long ago Antec was out to sue everyone that was making them. -
Chenbro CH11L-BK Review @ Maximum OC
Published: Saturday, June 7, 2003 | By: Dennis"They include a swivel power switch (like a PSU switch but it snaps back) and they include a button that isn't a reset button (something else), but they also give you a reset button in a plastic bag."
Rack mounted cases aren't for everyone; the racks are expensive and can take up a ton of space. -
Heatsink Lapping Kit Review @ OC Ware
Published: Saturday, June 7, 2003 | By: Dennis"Lapping serves one purpose - to get better temperatures. Because of this, it's fairly common practice among those looking to squeeze every last megahert out of thier processors. Lapping is simply grinding the surface of your heatsink, waterblock, or processor down slightly in order to smooth out the bumps and imperfections."
You can also make your own lapping kit with a quick trip to Home Depot.
