This goes against everything that is good in the world but I suppose whatever makes it easier to sell cheaply customized case. -

"While not originally intended for the desktop sector, but more towards entry level servers and workstations, the Granite Bay or E7205 chipset was Intel'ts first leap forward for the Pentium 4. Designed as the first Dual Channel DDR SDRAM platform for the Pentium 4 CPU with AGP 8x support, it was a large hit due to its increased memory bandwidth. Now Intel moved this a few steps forward with the Canterwood I875P chipset which we present to you a few days later after the NDA expired due to server issues we were experiencing."
Don't mind the lack of cellpadding it only makes the review that much harder to read. -

I'm still running a set of Altec Lansing 4.1's on my desktop and they appear to work just fine for now, though to be honest I’m still holding out for a good set of computer speakers with optical inputs to be released. So in the meantime I'll be watching all of my movies on the big screen downstairs.

Inno3D GeForce FX 5200 @ PC TechZone
Published: Friday, April 18, 2003 | By: DennisIn the past I've had good luck with the Inno3D stuff, its a cheaper alternative to the "name brand" video cards out there while still providing good performance.
"For a card that has 250 clock and 400 memory it is going from strength to strength. At the start of the review I was saying that this card would only be good for casual gamers. Now after running some intesive graphical games on it and not forgetting that the Ti4200 card has a higher memory speed I am absolutely asstounded ! I did not expect this kind of performance from the card whatsoever. It is the low end card from the new FX range and it can do this, its pretty amazing."
The card features passive cooling as well, not sure if that is a bonus or a negative but it's available. -
Albatron PX845PE Pro II Review @ bit-tech

"I have heard mixed feelings over the silver colour of this board. On one hand, love the silver (even nicer than the blue PCB that the PX845PEV Pro comes with). On the other hand there are those who would rather have something in black."
At least the floppy connector isn't under the last PCI slot. -

Albatron PX845PEV-800 Review @ myWorldHardware
Published: Thursday, April 17, 2003 | By: DennisThis Albertron is a black beauty of a mobo if I do say so myself, though it still has the floppy connector under the last PCI slot.
The overclocking performance seems to be typical of most i845PE motherboards (including the Soltek we have here in house) though I have seen better.
"Impressively, I managed to overclock the FSB to 155MHz, that was 155 x 4 = 620MHz Quad-Pumped speed. There are a few times when I failed to reboot the computer with the new clock settings, leaving my comp hang."
