Gainward GeForce FX 5800 Ultra Review @ NordicHardware

You may remember a press release from Gainward stating how they upgraded the cooling to run quieter than the stock solution. Here is what NH has to say about the new fan.
" Despite the noise reduction the cards fan still makes a lot of sound. More than any graphic card and CPU cooler we ever tried. Though this is only when we use it in 3D mode. When in 2D mode the card underclocks itself and the fan slows down. While doing that, the card is silent, so silent that I can't separate it from my CPU fan (~20dB), which is more than OK."
Gainward also has a GeForceFX water-cooling solution in the works that should help reduce the fan noise as well.
