  • Silverstone Temjin III (TJ-03) Review @ Hexus

Published: Tuesday, August 31, 2004 | By: Dennis

I've not been a huge fan of alu cases over the years since many of them are focused on being extremely light they are also extremely flimsy thus limiting their modding potential. I doubt this will change so hook me up with a steel case anytime. wink smile
"The CM101 was and still is an amazing computer case. It has good looks, amazing build quality and plenty of space to expand your computer system with 5 x 5¼ inch drive bays. This was the rival for the Lian Li PC70 which was popular with a lot of watercooling users as it has a vast amount of space to house the water pump and reservoir."

  • ABIT AA8-DuraMAX Review @ Legit Reviews

"For some of you who haven't updated your systems in some time you'll notice many of the new features on the board are not going to be compatible with your old hardware. So by upgrading to the Socket T platform and using that ABIT AA8-DuraMAX motherboard you will have several other hardware purchases to make."
The editor is speaking of the upgraded interfaces like DDR2, PCI-Express, and in this case SerialATA drives (though most boards are coming with SATA to PATA converters. Also don't foget a LGA775 processor. tongue smile

"In return, she will introduce them to different aspects of her life, like letting them meet her female friends - also electronic images."
Hehe prolly of her naked. big grin smile

  • Flash Mod Works! 5900 Ultra GS - 5950 Ultra

Published: Monday, August 30, 2004 | By: Dennis

This past weekend I was getting a little upset with the ingame performance of my Gainward FX5900 Ultra so I decided to see what I could do about it. Overclocking has been successful in the past so I tried my hand at some flashmodding. Keep in mind this is a work in progress but the reference design card took the Gainward FX5950 Ultra bios without any problem and has since been running like a champ.

Now I just need to start working on clock frequencies. big grin smile

  • Gainward Powerpack! Ultra/2100 Review @ NVPlanet

Published: Monday, August 30, 2004 | By: Dennis

"The term "Golden Sample" is a special edition of the PowerPack! Series. This technology uses hand picked 3D graphics processor and carefully qualified high-quality memory chips, Gainward's famous "Golden Sample" products feature "enhance mode" with factory-preset, over-clocked graphics core and memory speeds. Each Golden Sample product is guaranteed to outperform NVIDIA standard reference design with rock-solid stability."
I've been a huge fan of Gainward stuffs for quite a many years now though sadly whenever I bring up the subject it seems to fall on deaf ears, even at Gainward. sad smile

  • Gigabyte Gv-nx59128d (FX5900) Pci Express @ Red n Blackness

Published: Monday, August 30, 2004 | By: Dennis

As you can imagine this is your standard everyday superslow FX5900 AGP gpu with a PCI Express bridge. Rumor has it that many of these cards can at FX5950 speeds, though sadly this isn't one of them.
"The core runs at 350 and we were able to push it to ~475 mhz and the memory from 475 mhz to 650 with having a stable computer that was able to run 3dmark runs without artifacts or restarts. You can clock even more but the stability and the bnehcmarks scores get even lower if you raise them more. "

  • asetek Releases 25 New WaterChill and VapoChill Products

Published: Friday, August 27, 2004 | By: Dennis

"Particularly the NEW WaterChill Hard Drive Kits for both PC enthusiasts and professional are noticeable! As one of the of the first manufacturers of a water cooling solution for hard drives it is with pride that asetek present two different solutions - one for the hard drive bay [3 1/2'] and one for the CD-ROM [5 1/4']. Through an amazing 34 - 42 percentage temperature reduction in hard drive temperature - even in tightly packed PC/server systems - the WaterChill Hard Drive Kits represents maximum value for anybody giving priority to system stability and low noise."
I actually like what they did with the HDD coolers though if you look around you will find many "homebuilt" units that look very similar.

Oh ya, btw this is an IE only site, mozilla browsers have issues with their content management system so you won't be able to read the content.

  • Dual-core chips bring dual caches

Published: Thursday, August 26, 2004 | By: Dennis

"Each core of Montecito, for instance, will come with a 1MB level two cache and a 12MB level three cache, according to Cameron McNairy, a researcher at Intel. To date, Intel has mostly said that Montecito's level 3 cache will contain 24MB of memory."
For the most part this article is talking about server based stuff but that shouldn't stop you from reading it.
