Albatron PX865PE Pro II Review @ Extreme Overclocking

If you are looking for something a little cheaper, Albatron has other boards that use the 865PE chipset but don't quite have all the features of the Pro II."
The Springdale chipset is an amazing little device though it still doesn't excuse having the floppy connector under the last PCI slot. Strangely enough it seems to be a typical layout decision on most Albatron boards. -
DFI LanParty PRO875 Review @ TweakNews

"Rounding out the endless accessories are the included orange, rounded, UV reactive floppy and ATA-133/100/66 cables. I thought they looked sweet in normal lighting, but switching off the room lighting and switching on a UV cold cathode lamp and the true aesthetic potential of these cables lights up the room.
Oh wait, did I say "UV reactive"? The cables aren't the only part of this motherboard that glows, but you will have to wait till I bring this motherboards unique characteristic to the limelight or should I say "orangelight" ;)."
It appears that more and more people are taking advantage of the UV reactive nature of the LanParty series motherboards. -

Intel to Launch Two New Chipsets
Published: Monday, July 7, 2003 | By: Dennis"Intel plans to release two new Pentium 4 chipsets supporting single-channel DDR400 and an 800Mhz FSB (front-side bus), Taiwanese motherboard sources said. The 848P, formerly rumored as the 865PL, will be marketed for the value-line end-user market, while the 865GV will target OEM customers.
Intel’s 848P will share the same core and technologies as the existing 865P chipset, and only minor revisions will be needed to lower the 865P’s memory bandwidth from dual-channel to single-channel and increase its FSB speed to 800Mhz."

Gigabyte 7NNXP (nVidia nForce II 400 Ultra) Motherboard Review

ASRock K7S8XE versus Soltek 75FRN2L ("Golden Flame")
"If I faced a dilemma as to which board is better, I would give preference to a system based on the Soltek SL-75FRN2-L motherboard and an Athlon XP1700+ (almost all processors of this type can be configured as 10?200 = 2000MHz under the nominal voltage). Such a combination would have been cheaper than that with ASRock K7S8XE + Barton (200MHz bus) processor under practically the same performance."
Soltek wins again!, good show. -

"Well I had a little bit different plans of mounting this window than it would appear, and what is most common among modders. I taped around the edge of the window again, and measured out 4 holes (evenly spaced) along the top and bottom, and 3 holes (evenly spaced) along the sides. I then took my plexi window and mounted it on the back of the panel with double sided sticky tape. After the plexi was mounted, I drilled holes where I had previously marked, so it would go through both the panel and the window. "
This sounds more like a OEM/Pre-modded solution than a common modders solution. I think you will understand once you see the completed window. I will say that they did a nice job with the detailing. -
Sunbeam Tech's 4" Cold Cathode Review @ VoidedWarranty

From the dual inverter to the extra long power splitter, this 4" cold cathode kit is quite nice. I have seen allot of cathode kits from different companies and this one is by far the best."
I think a few warranties were voided in this review but they look good doing it. -
Pentium 2.4C Overclocking @ Extreme Overclocking

. Grab your gloves they put this 2.4C baby under dryice.
"4GHz with a 2.4C is amazing. This is a 1.6GHz overclock and puts the FSB at 334! This is an incredible speed and it was running fine. We tried to run some benchmarks but the AGP/PCI issues got us one more time. Because of the extreme FSB, we lost a hard drive because the PCI bus was out of specification."
Yep that’s extreme..
