"Blazing fast AMD based solution optimized for dual channel DDR40 and 400 MHz Frontside Bus support and features RAID 1.5, dual Ethernet, and UV sensitive components for the esthetically minded enthusiasts"
Rumours say that this board is already in NinjaLane labs and will be reviewed ASAP. Make sure you check back regularly.

  • Albatron KM18G Pro M-ATX nForce2 review @ MonkeyReview

Published: Friday, June 13, 2003 | By: Dennis

"Performance wise, I was very impressed with the results that were delivered but i was dissapointed to see the lack of advanced bios settings. To be fair, this could be rectified in the future with a bios update."
I've never been interested in M-ATX boards. Maybe because my PC hasn't been moved from it's place for over a year now.happy smile

  • Xoxide X-Dreamer *Limited Edition* review @ Modfathers

Published: Thursday, June 12, 2003 | By: Dennis

"I must say, this is one nice looking pre-modded case for this price point. The side panel window is pretty large and provides a very nice view of the insides and the included thumbscrews for both side panels make for easy entry into the case.."
It seems like most of the pre-modded cases' quality these days are lagging behind their looks...

  • Recordable DVD drive prices report @ Digitimes

Published: Thursday, June 12, 2003 | By: Dennis

"Retail prices for DVD-RW and DVD+RW drives have recently dropped to US$160-170 from US$370-380 in the first quarter of this year. NEC has priced some products even lower than this level."
I'd be hardly surprised if in the upcoming few years DVD recordable drives will be as common as the CD recordable drives are now.

  • nVidia Geforce FX 5900 Ultra review @ Tweaktown

Published: Thursday, June 12, 2003 | By: Dennis

"After all the troubles that the FX 5800 Ultra had, such as poor memory bandwidth, graphic distortion with FSAA enabled and the ultra high noise curtsey of the horrid cooling solution, the NV35 is defiantly a giant leap in the right direction for nVidia. "
Glad to hear that nVidia is back on the track. Can't wait for future releases from the manufacturers!approve smile

  • 512MB Mushkin PC3500 Black Dual Pack DDR Memory @ Rojak Pot

Published: Thursday, June 12, 2003 | By: Dennis

"However, be prepared to pay a premium price for these premium memory modules. Mushkin put a lot of effort into them and their price reflects it. If you are looking for a bargain, this is certainly not it! :)"
Expensive and fast. Can't say I didn't like the air box though...big grin smile

  • Abit FX 5800 review @ NordicHardware

Published: Thursday, June 12, 2003 | By: Dennis

This seems to be one of the few FX5800 video cards that is able to be overclocked by 30% of it's original rate.
"At this price it is not the best there is. If you do not intend to overclock there are better alternatives at the same price, but if you are eager to try nVidias NV30 and a large amount of free performance by overclocking you should consider it."
All there's left for me to do is sit back and wait for prices to drophappy smile

  • Finally Back Online!!

Published: Wednesday, June 11, 2003 | By: Dennis

Sorry for the extended downtime, my webhost decided to scrap the old POS server that was hosting ninjalane.com and in the process of moving the site over they failed to make sure that .net and my database dll files were installed properly. Basically they screwed the site up pretty bad.

Everything appears to be working again. For now. happy smile

  • Spidey Custom Chassis Review @ TwistedMods

Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: Dennis

"The case itself is very solid and comes in a silver color, not unlike the color of the silver Windows XP Theme I'm sure we've all seen. The coloring on the case isn't brushed or anything, it has a nice satin look to it and it picks up light really well."
Modded case market is getting larger every year but I still think nothing can beat a self-modded and, most of all, unique case.

  • 13 Power Supplies In The Spotlight @ Tomshardware

Published: Monday, June 9, 2003 | By: Dennis

"A reliable, potent power supply is required to prevent instability and system crashes. THG took a close look at 13 power supplies rated higher than 400 Watts. The test showed that lines supplying the system with +3.3, +5 and +12 Volt lines generated, on average, 20 Watts less overall power than was promised by the product name or product branding."
It's amazing how important power supplies became in the world of PC enthusiasts over the last few years.
