Published: Saturday, June 7, 2003 | By: Dennis"Intel is set to introduce one more 800MHz FSB (front-side bus)-based Pentium 4 processor, running at 3.2GHz, on June 23, according to the company’s roadmap. The new processor will be priced at US$637.

Single-Channel 865 Chipset??
Published: Saturday, June 7, 2003 | By: Dennis"Regarding the rumored launch, board makers said that it would not be difficult for Intel to roll out a single-channel product, which would only require adjustment in the memory support of Intel’s current chipsets. However, although the move may press other chipset designers to engage in a fiercer price war, manufacturers noted that it is also likely to affect sales of Intel’s 845PE chipsets, of which the chip giant still holds quite a bit of inventory."
Gotta move inventory, else you go broke storing it. -

Chili Pro Micro ATX Review @ TechJuice
Published: Thursday, June 5, 2003 | By: Dennis"While disassembling the case, I was amazed to find that the refinements of the case were not limited to the exterior. Every surface and edge were smoothed and rounded to prevent lacerations. "
This is sooooo very important and not something you can tell from looking at a picture. -
Water vs. Air @ Comp-Shop
Published: Thursday, June 5, 2003 | By: Dennis"Most overclockers and hardcore gamers are always trying to push their CPUs to its limit but this causes the CPU to produce more heat so what should you cool your CPU with? You can choose from air cooling or water cooling."
This article is kind of short so maybe we should chalk it up to personal preference? Do you want it loud or quiet? -
Abit IS7 Review Update
Published: Thursday, June 5, 2003 | By: DennisI just wanted to let everyone know that I have updated the reference system in the Abit IS7 review in response to some feedback that I have been getting. It would appear that some people were offended by the fact that I didn't use a "same platform" system for the comparison numbers in my review. In a way I can agree with their stance but in all honesty the reference system was only included to give the benchmark numbers a little context. At the time the reference system was easily accessible and I didn't find any harm is posting the numbers. Any event the numbers have be updated to reflect this.
For the record the previous reference system was based on the KT400A chipset and had a rather slow processor (XP 2200+) the new reference system is based on the i845PE chipset and is using the same processor that was used in the Abit IS7 review. (Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800Mhz FSB).
I am sorry for any confusion this may or may not have caused. -
Intel @ 3 Ghz Article @ hardCOREware
Published: Wednesday, June 4, 2003 | By: Dennis"Our aim in this Platform Overview article is to answer several questions:
What is the fastest platform for the new "C" Class P4?
What kind of difference does "PAT" make?
What kind of difference does 800 FSB make?
Will 533 FSB CPU's benefit from the new dual channel chipsets?
How do the old platforms stack up now?
Will we miss RDRAM?
Let's get it on!"
First of all, try to answer the questions on your own first. (even if you're an AMD guy) Then go read the review. -
Abit USA News Postage
Published: Wednesday, June 4, 2003 | By: DennisHey everyone, check out who made the cover of Abit-USA.
Yep it would seem that they really liked my review of the Abit IS7 so much they came up with a snappy comment and posted it for all to see.
"NinjaLane recently reviewed the special ABIT IS7 motherboard, with karate like speed and ninja like stealthness, the ABIT IS7 was given a full 5 out of 5 throwing stars. "

AOpen AX4SG Max Review @ 3dXtreme
Published: Tuesday, June 3, 2003 | By: DennisI'm really starting to like the new Dual Channel DDR series from Intel. It has great out of box performance and overclocks quite well.
"With the exception of the onboard Intel Extreme Graphics 2 we were blown away by the performance shown here by the AOpen AX4SG Max Motherboard. The Intel Springdale chipset is directed towards the mainstream market and provides the best
bang-for-the-buck when comparing it to other Intel based motherboards available on the market today."
I didn't see him mention that he was using an "unlocked" 3.0C but I guess it doesn't really matter.
