MSI GeForce 6600 GT SLI Review @ nV News
Published: Monday, March 21, 2005 | By: DennisWith how much I like red PCBs it kind of makes you wonder why I don't review any MSI products... When I find out I'll let you know.
"While the red PCB looks cool, the actual cooling setup was what attracted me to this particular card. A copper cooler that also covers the video memory is something that should prove to be beneficial for the card's long-term health. The 6600 GT in PCI-Express form does not require additional connections directly to my system power supply, even when running in an SLI configuration." -
Vantec UV Reactive Gear @ Viperlair
Published: Monday, March 21, 2005 | By: DennisHere is a site that has gone to great lengths to ensure that if any site copies their shite whoever reads it will know where the images came from.
Not only is the watermark really obtrusive but the photos are really washed out.
"While both products are designed to be a quick mod for your interior, the EZ-Grips primary function of making Molex plug disconnecting a simple task is a huge benefit to anyone who finds Molex plugs a pain in the a**."
Ya I like poking fun. *poke* -
New Advertiser at Ninjalane
Published: Monday, March 21, 2005 | By: DennisIn case some of you haven't noticed we have a new advertiser and sponsor here at Ninjalane, computergeeks.com. This is an online retailer that deals in computer parts and personal electronics. Ya know geeky stuff.
One thing that is a little different about this store is that instead of dealing in only new and readily available parts they have a select inventory of used components for a fraction of the cost.
Do check them out; never know you might find some used parts for that computer your sister wants you to build. -
Gigabyte GA-K8N Ultra-SLI Review @ Neoseeker
Published: Monday, March 21, 2005 | By: DennisWhat is in a name? Well when it comes to motherboard marketing the name can be almost as important as what the board does, almost.
"You keen readers out there might notice that these specifications are almost identical to the K8NXP-SLI - that's because they are. The two boards use identical PCBs, and the only features lacking on the K8N Ultra-SLI is the bundled PCI WiFi adapter, as well as Gigabyte's proprietary DPS (Dual-Power System). The contact points for the DPS connector are still present on the PCB." -

asetek WaterChill KT03A Extreme Review Posted
Published: Thursday, March 17, 2005 | By: DennisThe asetek WaterChill CPU Power kit (KT03A-SL35) can be viewed in a variety of ways. The obvious and enthusiast oriented option is around overclocking. A huge radiator, 3 fans means tons of cooling and big overclocks.

Motherboard Basics @ Big Bruin
Published: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 | By: DennisKnowing the motherboard basics won't get you hot chix (or d00ds) at the local bar but will help you if someone asks you "WTF is a chipset".
"Back in the day, AMD and Intel processors shared a common CPU socket, but those days were short lived. AMD and Intel have since been traveling down their own, relatively parallel, paths of performance and speed increases, while using different designs. Selecting a motherboard for a modern AMD processor eliminates the use of any Intel processor, and vice versa."
I remember that. Using the same socket was actually pretty cool though didn't really save you much from an upgrading standpoint. -
Soltek SL-K890Pro-939 Review @ The Tech Report
Published: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 | By: DennisWe recently reviewed this motherboard and found it to be one of the best performing PCI Express boards in our labs to date. This was due in part to our Chaintech 6600GT.
"Had it been released earlier, a board like Soltek's K8T890-based SL-K890PRO-939 could have been among the first PCI Express platforms for the Athlon 64. Now it faces a market filled with motherboards based on NVIDIA's nForce4 chipset family that have raised our expectations for the marriage of PCI-E and AMD64."
One thing I have always liked about The Tech Report is how they take their photos. They kind of look like the stuff I've been posting for the past many years. -
BFG VNF4 Ultra Motherboard Review @ AMD Review
Published: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 | By: DennisHere is a first, BFG (yes the video card company) has released a motherboard based on the nVidia nForce4 Ultra. A must see for history sake.
"The one thing everyone wants to know, should I buy this board? Well if you are looking for a good nForce 4 board, and you don't want to go SLI, then this board is one of the best ones to get. The nForce 4 Ultra chipset has all the features that a SLI board has except the SLI."
Not to many photos in this review, in fact I think they took a couple high res photos of the board and then chopped them up to display on the website.
Just an observation. -
DFI LANParty NF4 SLI-DR Motherboard @ Legit Reviews
Published: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 | By: DennisDFI does make some good stuff, asetek and DFI partnered at CeBit to show off the power of the new LANParty motherboards and the WaterChill extreme. Be sure to check back for our review of these products.
"With DFI’s philosophy of not having to be first, but being the best, I have eagerly been waiting for the release of their socket 939 solution, and finally my wait is over. With features like SLI (Scaleable Link Interface), PCI-Express, NVidia’s NForce 4 Chipset, SATA II and NCQ (Native Command Queuing) support, Karajan 8 channel audio, as well as DFI’s assortment of management tools, how can you not be excited?"
